Apple Maps to allegedly show ads from 2023

Apple is reportedly planning to show search ads in its Maps app on the iPhone from 2023.

Ads in Apple Maps will not be the usual banner ads seen on websites but instead paid search results. For instance, a fast food restaurant may pay Apple to appear towards the top of search results for burgers or fries.

Google Maps has already been showcasing similar search ads.

Also, Apple already displays search ads within the App Store, allowing developers to pay to promote their products to consumers who conduct relevant keyword searches.
