Ruckus in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha over Pegasus row, both houses adjourned

Jul 22, 2021 14:17 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Amid loud sloganeering, both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the second time on Thursday as Opposition MPs led protests against the newly implemented farms laws and the alleged snooping by the Centre using the Pegasus spyware.

Congress MPs have submitted a notice for an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha over the Pegasus snooping row. Rahul Gandhi meanwhile joined Congress MPs at the Gandhi statue outside the Parliament during their protest over the newly implemented farm laws.

Shiromani Akali Dal MPs were also on protest over the farm laws and were seen with placards to Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar at the Parliament premises.

Later in the day, Congress MP KC Venugopal is expected to move a privilege motion in parliament accusing the govt of misleading people by giving false information about the Covid-19 deaths due to the oxygen crisis.
