<p>After smashing box office records by earning over Rs 1,000 crore in its theatrical run, "Dhurandhar" started streaming on Netflix from Friday with director Aditya Dhar calling it a new chapter for the movie that stayed in cinemas for more than a month.</p>
<p>Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, the film broke many records to emerge as the highest-earning single-language Hindi film in India with India net collections crossing a massive Rs 1,000 crore.</p>
<p>The film released in theatres on December 5 but continued to be watched till January before its Netflix premiere. The audiences can also watch the film in Tamil and Telugu in addition to Hindi on the streaming platform.</p>
<p>"The theatrical response to 'Dhurandhar' was deeply humbling, especially witnessing audiences connect with its story, characters, and scale. <p>The High Grounds police have registered a case against Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh following a complaint alleging "insult to religious sentiments" during a public event, police said on Thursday.</p>
<p>The FIR was registered on Wednesday based on a complaint lodged by Prashanth Methal (46), a Bengaluru-based lawyer, after an Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACJM) court referred the private complaint for investigation.</p>
<p>The accused has been booked under Sections 196, 299, and 302 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.</p>
<p>According to the complaint, the incident pertains to the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa on November 28, 2025.</p>
<p>The complainant stated that Ranveer Singh, while present on stage and in the presence of the lead actor of Kantara: Chapter-1, allegedly performed acts that mocked and insulted the sacred Bhoota Kola tradition practiced in Coastal Karnataka.</p>
<p>Methal said he is a devotee of 'Chavundi Daiva', a revered guardian spirit worshipped in Bhoota Kola rituals, and that the deity is also his family deity, which he has worshipped since childhood.</p>
<p>He alleged that the actor imitated the divine expressions of Panjurli/Guliga Daiva in a "crude, comical and derogatory manner" and verbally referred to the sacred Chavundi Daiva as a "female ghost." Despite an alleged request not to perform the Daiva act, the accused enacted an emotional Chavundi Daiva scene from Kantara: Chapter 1 on stage, the lawyer said.</p>
<p>"Chavundi Daiva is not a female ghost but a powerful and fierce guardian spirit symbolising justice, protection, and divine feminine energy, and holds deep religious and cultural significance in the coastal region," Methal said in his complaint.</p>
<p>Referring to the deity as a ghost was described in the complaint as "blasphemous and a serious insult to Hindu religious beliefs and practices."</p>
<p>The complainant alleged that the accused, being a widely followed public figure, performed the act on an international platform with knowledge that it would hurt the religious sentiments of devotees.</p>
<p>The complaint further stated that a video of the alleged performance went viral on social media, causing grave mental agony, anger, and resentment among devotees.</p>
<p>Methal said he became aware of the incident after viewing the video on social media. "The act of the accused was deliberate, intentional and malicious, intended to outrage religious feelings," the complainant alleged.</p>

<p>So is the 38-year-old &ldquo;Kesariya&rdquo; and &ldquo;Vida Karo&rdquo; singer going back to the quiet, almost pastoral life? That was the question on Wednesday, a day after his shock announcement that he is formally retiring from playback singing though not from music itself.</p>
<p>Many people opt out of the rat race. It&rsquo;s rare though in showbiz for anybody at the pinnacle to step back from the fame and adulation after a dazzling 15-year career. The speculation of the whys and how comes are intense.</p>
<p>"Stepping away from playback singing feels less like an exit and more like an arrival into freedom, authorship, and possibility," said singer Sona Mohapatra.</p>

<p>Though Singh has been elusive ever since, not responding to calls or messages for interviews, some outlets shared comments credited to his private X account called WhoamI.</p>
<p>"There is not one reason behind this, there are several reasons plus I have been trying to do this since a long time. Finally I have gathered the right courage. One of the reasons were simple, I get bored pretty quick, thats why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. So here is the thing, I got bored (sic)," he wrote on X.</p>
<p>"Another reason is I am excited to hear some singer come up and give me real motivation," he added.</p>
<p>The account on X is verified with a blue tick and with pictures of Arijit and his family, but it could not be independently established that he is the one operating it.</p>
<p>Singer Shreya Ghoshal, who teamed up with Singh on hits such as "O Mahi", "Manwa Laage", "Tum Kya Mile" and "Tere Hawale", said it is the start of a new phase for him.</p>
<p>"...and I am truly excited to hear, listen and experience what this genius churns out!! I can never call this the end of an era. An artist of his calibre can never be defined by the traditional means and medium and be boxed in to fit in the set formula. <p>Actor Neena Gupta said she was initially surprised but then realised how brave a decision it was on the singer's part. "Initially, I was very surprised but then I thought it was a very brave decision on his part. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut... He said he wants to learn more about music, which is a great thing... I'm very impressed by him. We are going to miss him and his songs but maybe he will come up with something else, so kudos to him," Gupta told PTI.</p>

<p>Singh's rise in the Indian music industry has been nothing short of meteoric.</p>

<p>In a press note, the makers said the film has so far grossed Rs 216.79 crore at the box office.</p>
<p>"&lsquo;Border 2&rsquo; has achieved a sensational new milestone, breaching the coveted Rs 200 plus crore mark at the Indian box office in just five days of release. After a massive long weekend, the film has held up remarkably well on its first working day, adding a strong Rs 23.31 crore in net box office collection (NBOC) on day five and taking its total collection to a thunderous Rs 216.79 crore NBOC," the note read.</p>
<p>According to the makers, "Border 2" collected Rs 32.10 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 40.59 crore on day two, Rs 57.20 crore on day three and Rs 63.59 crore on day four.</p>
<p>"Border 2" also stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.</p>
<p>While the 1997 film was based on the events of the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, "Border 2" is also set against the backdrop of the same conflict.</p>

<p>The Oscar-winning composer told the BBC Asian Network in a recent interview that the volume of his work in the Hindi film industry has declined over the past eight years, suggesting it may be linked to what he described as a &ldquo;communal thing&rdquo;.</p>
<p>He also pointed to shifts in the industry&rsquo;s power structures, saying creative control has moved away from artistes. His comments triggered a debate online and within the film industry with critics questioning the basis of his observations.</p>
<p>Ali, who has frequently collaborated with Rahman for films such as "Rockstar", "Highway", "Tamasha" and most recently "Amar Singh Chamkila", said he has never felt any kind of "communal bias" in Bollywood.</p>
<p>&ldquo;No, I don't think there is a communal bias in the film industry. I've been here for a long time, and I've never seen it, and AR Rahman is one of the brightest figures that I've met in the film industry," the filmmaker told India Today.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I do not actually believe that he made all the comments that are being attributed to him, or maybe it's been misconstrued. In fact, I know that he did not say exactly what is being perceived. Also, I don't remember of a single incident where there was any communal bias or animosity,&rdquo; he added.</p>
<p>In the interview with BBC Asian Network, Rahman was asked if he faced any prejudice in the Hindi film industry when he started out in the 1990s.</p>
<p>"Maybe I didn't get to know all this stuff. Maybe God concealed all this stuff. But for me I never felt any of those, but the past eight years, maybe, because the power shift has happened," he replied.</p>
<p>"People who are not creative have the power now to decide things and this might have been a communal thing also but not in my face. It comes to me as Chinese whispers that they booked you but the music company went ahead and hired their five composers. I said, 'Oh that's great, rest for me, I can chill out with my family'," he said.</p>
<p>Among those who criticised Rahman for his comments was actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, who called him &ldquo;prejudiced and hateful&rdquo;.</p>
<p>Veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, who has collaborated with Rahman on several projects, said he disagreed with the suggestion of communal bias.</p>
<p>As the debate intensified, Rahman issued a clarification on social media on Sunday, saying his remarks were misunderstood and that he never intended to cause pain.</p>

<p>The incident occurred on Monday night near Mukteshwar Road in Juhu. The car of Kumar, who was returning home with his wife Twinkle Khanna from the airport after an overseas trip, was not involved in the collision.&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to police, the autorickshaw was hit by a speeding Mercedes car, causing it to ram into the vehicle that was part of Kumar's security entourage.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The autorickshaw driver was injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital for treatment, the police said.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Juhu police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the Mercedes driver.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Supreme Court turns down plea challenging Madras HC stay on censor certificate for Vijay&rsquo;s Jana Nayagan, delaying the film&rsquo;s Pongal release.</p>

<p>The release of Vijay-starrer "Jana Nayagan" has been pushed further with the Supreme Court on Thursday dismissing the producer's plea for a censor certificate and asking them to go back to the Madras High Court for relief on January 20.</p>
<p>KVN Productions LLP had challenged an interim order of the Madras High Court that stayed a single-judge direction to grant censor board clearance to the Tamil movie, which was slated for a Pongal release on January 9 and is billed to be Vijay's last before his full-fledged entry into politics.</p>
<p>A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih questioned the pace at which the case was dealt with in the Madras High Court and asked the film producers to approach the division bench for relief on January 20.</p>
<p>It said the Madras High Court must decide the plea on January 20 itself after senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for the producers, said a film is a perishable item, and it would cause "serious injury" if adjudication of the dispute is delayed.</p>
<p>Rohatgi submitted that it is a long-settled industry practice to announce the release date before Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) clearance, and over 5,000 theatres were booked for the screening of the movie.</p>
<p>Justice Datta questioned the haste with which the single bench disposed of the matter within one day. "We would welcome all judges to dispose of matters within a day or two of their filing. But this should happen in all cases. This is a blistering pace with which the matter was disposed of. The matter was filed on January 6 and decided on 7th. When the matter is fixed for hearing before the division bench on January 20th, they have a right of appeal," he said.</p>
<p>Justice Datta also said that the CBFC chairperson's order dated January 6, referring the matter to the review committee, was not challenged before the single judge. "When the division bench has listed the matter for January 20, then there is no need for the Supreme Court to interfere at this juncture," the bench observed.</p>
<p>Rohatgi said the communication, which was received from the CBFC on January 5, stated that they had referred the film to the review committee. The communication was challenged before the single judge, he clarified and added that this was the same as the January 6 order of the chairperson of the CBFC. "Pending the challenge of the communication, the January 6 order was uploaded," he submitted.</p>
<p>Justice Datta said the writ petition should have been amended to challenge the January 6 order and pointed out that the precedent cited by the single bench was not applicable to the present case, as it is related to a service matter. Rohatgi claimed that the entire exercise of the CBFC was "mala fide".</p>
<p>Justice Datta, however, said, "You go before the division bench; we are not going to entertain this." Rohatgi urged the bench to ask the high court to decide the matter on January 20. "I have lost everything," he said. "We are not inclined to interfere," the bench said and ordered that the division bench of the high court may endeavour to decide the appeal on January 20.</p>
<p>On January 9, the Madras High Court stayed a single judge's order directing the CBFC to immediately grant a censor certificate to "Jana Nayagan", leaving the fate of actor-turned-politician Vijay's film, which has drawn attention for its political overtones, in limbo.</p>
<p>KVN Productions LLP filed an appeal in the SC against the order passed by a division bench of the high court last Friday, which put on hold the single bench's directive to the board to issue the film's certificate forthwith. Vijay recently launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).</p>
<p>"Jana Nayagan" was slated for release on January 9. However, the film ran into last-minute hurdles after the CBFC did not issue certification in time.</p>
<p>On January 9, the high court division bench, hearing an appeal filed by the CBFC, granted an interim stay against the single judge's verdict. This came hours after Justice PT Asha directed the CBFC to give clearance to "Jana Nayagan", setting aside the film board's directive to refer the matter to a review committee.</p>
<p>The single-judge bench had said that once the board had decided to grant the certificate, the chairperson had no power to send the matter to the review committee. The film board immediately preferred an appeal against the order.</p>

<p data-start="96" data-end="340">The Karnataka State Women&rsquo;s Commission has written to the CBFC seeking action after AAP lodged a complaint against alleged obscene scenes in the teaser of Yash&rsquo;s upcoming film &lsquo;Toxic&rsquo;, citing harm to women and children.</p>

<p>The KSWC on Monday wrote to the CBFC seeking "appropriate action" after the AAP lodged a complaint objecting to alleged obscene scenes in the teaser of the film 'Toxic', starring actor Yash.</p>
<p>Earlier in the day, leaders of the women&rsquo;s wing of the AAP&rsquo;s state unit met officials of the state women's commission and submitted a complaint, urging action against the teaser.</p>
<p>"It is hereby requested to take further action on the subject mentioned in the petition after verifying it as per rules and to submit an action-taken report in this regard," the commission&rsquo;s secretary said in a letter to the CBFC, citing a petition submitted by AAP state secretary Usha Mohan.</p>
<p>In her petition, Mohan alleged that the "obscene and explicit content" in the teaser was causing serious harm to the social well-being of women and children.</p>
<p>She claimed that the scenes, released in the public domain without any age-related warning, "degrade the dignity of women and insult Kannada culture."</p>
<p>Citing the alleged adverse impact on society, particularly minors, the party urged the commission to intervene immediately and direct the state government authorities to "ban the teaser and remove it from social media platforms."</p>
<p>"On behalf of the women&rsquo;s wing of the Aam Aadmi Party, we urge the commission to treat the matter seriously and take immediate action to uphold the cultural and moral values of the state," the petition said.</p>
<p>The makers of 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups' released the first look of Yash on January 8, introducing him as &lsquo;Raya&rsquo; through a brief teaser shared on the actor&rsquo;s 40th birthday.</p>
<p>Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film marks Yash&rsquo;s first project since the blockbuster success of 'KGF: Chapter 2' in 2022.</p>
<p>It has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and other languages.</p>
<p>Following the teaser&rsquo;s release, a section of social media users objected to the visuals, accusing the film of "objectifying women" and questioning the director in light of her past statements critical of such portrayals.</p>
<p>Another section, however, came out strongly in defence of the teaser and the film&rsquo;s team.</p>
<p>Produced by KVN Productions, 'Toxic' is scheduled for release on March 19. The film also stars Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, and Rukmini Vasanth in pivotal roles.</p>

<p>Principal photography for the project was completed in February 2026, a development confirmed by lead actors Shweta Tripathi and Ali Fazal. The film is expected to continue the gritty narrative that made the series one of the most watched Indian web shows.</p>

<p>Following the massive box office success of "Dhurandhar", Ranveer Singh on Tuesday shared the highly anticipated teaser of "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", the film's second part, which showcases his character of spy-gangster Hamza Ali Mazari transform into a killing machine in his quest for vengeance.</p>
<p>At the end of the over one-minute-long teaser, Singh's voiceover declares "Ye naya Hindustan Hai, ghar me ghusega bhi aur maarega bhi" (It's new India. We will not only infiltrate the enemy territory but also kill).</p>

<p>Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh on Tuesday shared the first-look poster of his upcoming film "Dhurandhar: The Revenge".</p>
<p>Directed by Aditya Dhar, "Dhurandhar" released on December 5, 2025 and also starred Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi. The sequel is set to release in theatres on March 19 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.</p>

<p>Rapper Kendrick Lamar on Sunday won four Grammys while Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga won two each -- but all three still were in the hunt for history on music's biggest night.</p>
<p>Bad Bunny meanwhile earned cheers as he delivered a powerful political message, ripping the nationwide immigration raids that have polarized America.</p>
<p>The three music heavyweights are each hoping to take home the gala's most coveted award, Album of the Year, for the first time.</p>
<p>"Before I say thanks to God, I'm gonna say 'ICE out'," Bad Bunny said as he accepted the award for best musica urbana album for his "Debi Tirar Mas Fotos" ("I Should Have Taken More Photos").</p>
<p>"We're not savages, we're not animals, we're not aliens; we are humans and we are Americans," the 31-year-old Puerto Rican singer said, one week before he takes one of the world's biggest stages, headlining the Super Bowl halftime show.</p>
<p>It was a big moment on a night of hard-hitting performances, poignant speeches and one-liners from six-time host Trevor Noah.</p>
<p>Lamar scooped up four awards in the rap categories including best rap album for "GNX," while Gaga won for best pop vocal album and best dance pop recording.</p>
<p>"I just want to say for women in music that I know sometimes when you're in the studio with a bunch of guys, it can be hard. So I urge you to always listen to yourself and always fight for your ideas," Lady Gaga said.</p>
<p>Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell won for Song of the Year with "Wildflower," and Britain's Olivia Dean was crowned Best New Artist.</p>
<p><br><strong>- Album of the Year showdown -</strong></p>
<p>"I'm not good at talking about myself, but I express it through the music. It's an honor to be here," said Lamar, a Pulitzer Prize winner.</p>
<p>The 38-year-old California native, who won five Grammys last year thanks to his smash diss track "Not Like Us," is also up for Record of the Year for "Luther" featuring R&amp;B artist SZA.</p>
<p>Standing in Lamar's way for Album of the Year is Bad Bunny, who is in the middle of a world tour, just months after a hugely successful residency in San Juan.</p>
<p>His "Un verano sin ti" (2022) was the first Spanish-language album nominated for Album of the Year honors. A win on Sunday would give Bad Bunny another mention in the history books.</p>
<p>Lady Gaga, 39, made a splashy comeback to touring with "Mayhem," her collection of pop bangers with a dark edge that embraces her dramatic side. She has seven nominations.</p>
<p>A win for Album of the Year would complete her hat trick of top awards.</p>
<p>She took Record and Song of the Year honors seven years ago for the soundtrack hit "Shallow," from "A Star is Born" -- which also earned her an Oscar.</p>
<p>Also nominated for Album of the Year are: pop princess Sabrina Carpenter; R&amp;B singer-songwriter Leon Thomas; Tyler, the Creator; hip-hop duo Clipse (Pusha T and Malice); and Bieber -- with his first studio effort in four years.</p>
<p><br><strong>- Big performances -</strong></p>
<p>Noah repeatedly joked with the 31-year-old Latin megastar, born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, about not performing due to Super Bowl contractual restrictions -- and even sang a few bars in Spanish himself before Bad Bunny indulged with a short verse.</p>
<p>K-pop singer Rose and Bruno Mars kicked off the proceedings with a high-octane performance of "APT.," before Noah took to the stage.</p>
<p>Lady Gaga offered an energetic version of "Abracadabra" and Justin Bieber stripped to his boxers for his turn on stage.</p>
<p>Reba McEntire and Lauryn Hill sang in honor of those who died over the last year in the world of music. Late rocker Ozzy Osbourne's wife Sharon and children Kelly and Jack looked on as Post Malone paid tribute.</p>
<p>"Golden," from the Netflix animated smash hit "KPop Demon Hunters," won the prize for best song written for visual media, and top Oscar nominee "Sinners" won two soundtrack awards.</p>
<p>The majority of the 95 awards were handed out at a pre-gala ceremony before the televised broadcast.</p>
<p>Joni Mitchell -- one of several attendees wearing an "ICE OUT" pin in protest of US President Donald Trump's sweeping immigration crackdown -- took a prize for best historical album.</p>

<p>The 68th annual Grammy Awards are taking place Sunday and spirits were high from the jump after a few back-to-back, history making moments.</p>
<p>The Dalai Lama won his first Grammy for audio book, narration and storytelling recording, beating out Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. You ready that correctly.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I am not the Dalai Lama,&rdquo; Rufus Wainwright joked in an acceptance speech. &ldquo;It was a privilege to participate on this project."</p>
<p>&ldquo;Golden&rdquo; from &ldquo;KPop Demon Hunters&rdquo; won song written for visual media at the Premiere Ceremony, marking the first time a K-pop act has won a Grammy. Songwriters delivered their acceptance speech in both English and Korean, highlighting the song's bilingual appeal.</p>
<p>Music film went to &ldquo;Music for John Williams,&rdquo; which means director Steven Spielberg has officially won his first Grammy. That makes him an EGOT winner &mdash; an artist with an Emmy, Grammy, Tony and Oscar.</p>
<p>The Premiere Ceremony, a pre-telecast show held at the adjacent Peacock Theater, began with musician and host Darren Criss setting the scene &mdash; giving out the first award of the day, for best pop/duo group performance to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande for "Defying Gravity.&rdquo; They were not present to accept the award.</p>
<p>An impressive 86 Grammys will be handed out pre-broadcast.</p>
<p>Yungblud won his first Grammy for rock performance for his cover of Black Sabbath's &ldquo;Changes (live from Villa Park),&rdquo; which he performed at Ozzy Osbourne's final show.</p>
<p>Hardcore band Turnstile also won their first Grammy for rock album and later, metal performance.</p>
<p>&ldquo;To Baltimore, thank you, we love you," said frontman Brendan Yates.</p>
<p>The Cure won alternative music performance but were unable to attend as they were attending the funeral of Perry Archangelo Bamonte, the Cure's longtime guitarist and keyboardist, who died last month.</p>
<p>FKA twigs won her first Grammy for best dance/electronic album for &ldquo;EUSEXUA," becoming only the second Black woman to win in the category.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I didn't expect to come up here. I was just so happy to be nominated,&rdquo; she said in her speech. &ldquo;Thank you so much &mdash; wow.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&ldquo;All the Latino kids in the hood watching, anything is possible,&rdquo; said rapper Lefty Gunplay, who also won his first Grammy for rap performance for his role on Kendrick Lamar's &ldquo;TV Off.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Earlier on, Edgar Barrera handed out some of the Latin music categories.</p>
<p>Natalia Lafourcade won best Latin pop album for &ldquo;Cancionera.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Best Latin Rock or Alternative album went to CA7RIEL &amp; Paco Amoroso for &ldquo;Papota.&rdquo; It is their first win on their first nomination.</p>
<p>In their speech, in Spanish, they thanked their home country of Argentina and all of Latin America.</p>
<p>M&uacute;sica Mexicana album (including Tejano) went to Car&iacute;n Le&oacute;n for &ldquo;Palabra De To's (Seca).&rdquo; It is his second win on his second nomination.</p>
<p>It is a dramatically different tone than last year. The 2025 award show was completely reimagined and refocused to relief efforts following the devastating Los Angeles-area wildfires.</p>
<p>In 2026, the focus has been placed once again on the music, where Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny and more will go head-to-head during the televised ceremony.</p>
<p>The energy was high from minute one at the Premiere Ceremony.</p>
<p>Earth, Wind &amp; Fire gave a groovy opening performance of &ldquo;Shining Star&rdquo; with some help from Israel Houghton, Lila Ike, Grace Potter, Maggie Rose and Trombone Shorty.</p>
<p>&ldquo;That's how you start a show!&rdquo; Recording Academy CEO and President Harvey Mason Jr. said in his opening remarks.</p>
<p>&ldquo;That's a statement. That's joy. That's resilience.&rdquo;</p>
<p>There were many other performances as well.</p>
<p>Zara Larsson brought her Swedish pop &ldquo;Midnight Sun,&rdquo; followed by Spiritbox's metallic &ldquo;Soft Spine,&rdquo; Tasha Cobbs Leonard's &ldquo;Church,&rdquo; and Criss and Helen J. Shen's &ldquo;Never Fly Away.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Following the Premiere Ceremony, comedian Trevor Noah will host the main show for a sixth and final year.</p>
<p>History could be made when some of the biggest names in music gather.</p>

<p>Country duo/group performance went to first-time winners Shaboozey and Jelly Roll.</p>
<p>Shaboozey accepted the award with tears in his eyes.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I want to thank my mother, who as of today, has retired from her job of 30 years &hellip; working as a registered nurse in a psych ward &hellip; as an immigrant in this country. Thank you, mom.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&ldquo;Immigrants built this country, literally, actually. So, this for them,&rdquo; he concluded.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Thank you for bring your culture, your music and your stories.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Amy Allen won songwriter of the year, nonclassical for a second year in a row and wore an &ldquo;ICE Out&rdquo; pin.</p>
<p>So did Kehlani &ndash; who won her first Grammy for R&amp;B performance and later, her second, for R&amp;B song.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I've never won anything before, this is a really crazy feeling,&rdquo; she said as she fought back tears.</p>
<p>She reflected on her first nomination 10 years ago.</p>
<p>Then she shifted gears to focus on the current political moment.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Imma leave this and say, (expletive) ICE.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&ldquo;I'm scared,&rdquo; Gloria Estefan said of the current political moment backstage at the Grammys.</p>
<p>&ldquo;There are hundreds of children in detention centers. &hellip; I don't recognize my country in this moment right now.&rdquo;</p>
