The accused individual, originally from Bihar, is currently on the run, and a search is on to trace him, the official said.
The victim, employed with a private company, became friends with the accused, identified as Himanshu Kumar Singh, in 2022.
The complainant stated that she and Singh shared an intimate relationship. However, Singh secretly filmed their private moments using her mobile phone, laptop, and a spycam.
The FIR stated that Singh blackmailed the woman with the video clips and extorted Rs 13 lakh in cash and gold jewelry from the victim.
Fed up with the harassment, the woman approached Bangur Nagar police station and lodged an FIR, following which a case was registered against Singh on charges of blackmail, extortion, sexual assault, and under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

"Shukla ji will get 'ghar ka khana (home food)' and also have the option to choose from international cuisine, as approved by NASA," said DK Singh, director of ISRO's Human Space Flight Centre.
ISRO and DRDO have developed food items for astronauts of the Gaganyaan mission and the same is being made available to Shukla with NASA's approval, he said.
Axiom Space last month shared a video of Axiom Mission 4 crew members sampling multiple food options available aboard the ISS.
In the video, Shukla could be seen sampling a variety of dishes, rating each based on taste and preference. These meals will later be packed and sent to the space station for the Axiom Mission 4 astronauts to consume during their 14-day mission.
The Axiom Mission 4 will have veteran astronaut Peggy Whitson as commander, Shukla as mission pilot, and Polish astronaut Sawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski and Hungarian astronaut Tibor Kapu as mission specialists.
Axiom Space has announced the Axiom Mission 4 would be launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Centre at 10:33 pm IST on May 29.

Referring to his recent meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Vijayvargiya noted that Naxalites are increasingly surrendering.
Stressing that Naxalism doesn't exist in Madhya Pradesh, Vijayvargiya cited information about the movement of Naxals around Mandla, Dindori, and Balaghat districts.
"Therefore, the cabinet has decided to create 850 posts for a year. People from local villages, who can collaborate with the government and provide information on Naxalite movements, will be selected for these posts," he told reporters after attending the cabinet meeting.
Among other decisions, the council of ministers also approved a proposal to increase the cash award for medal winners from Madhya Pradesh in the 2024 Paralympics to Rs 1 crore from Rs 50 lakh.
Earlier, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had announced the Rs 1 crore honorarium for Paralympics medalists Rubina Francis and Kapil Parmar for their outstanding performances.
At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Francis secured a bronze medal in shooting, while Parmar won a bronze in blind judo.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N. Kotiswar Singh said, "The constitutional mandate of grassroots democracy through periodical election of the local bodies ought to be respected and ensured." The reservation it ordered should be provided to the other backward classes (OBC) in line with the law existing in the state before the 2022 report of the J. K. Banthia commission, which recommended a 27 percent quota for the category in local bodies.
The bench also fixed a timeline for concluding the local body polls and asked the State Election Commission (SEC) to conclude it in four months. The SEC was granted the liberty to allow the panel to seek more time in appropriate cases.
The outcome of Maharashtra local body elections would, however, be subject to decisions in pending petitions before the apex court, it added.
The bench noted the core issue in the batch of petitions filed in support of or against the report of the Banthia Commission was OBC reservation.
Other issues, it said, included setting up a dedicated commission to conduct empirical inquiry into the nature and implication of the backwardness for the purpose of reservation in the local body and whether such a reservation could extend the aggregate of 50 percent.
The top court said since the elected bodies had a prescribed term, no irreversible loss would be caused, and the appropriate amendment in the existing law for inclusion or exclusion of certain categories like issues could be considered in the course of time.
Senior advocate Indira Jaising, appearing for some petitioners, argued local bodies elections could not be held due to the pendency of the petitions in the apex court.
Justice Kant pointed out the court's status quo order led to the appointment of administrators in various local bodies, but there were complaints of bureaucrats taking policy decisions.
The bench asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the state government, why elections couldn't be held.
"One thing we can't understand. Whatever the law you have enacted, right or wrong, we will decide. You have already identified certain classes of OBCs. Why can't elections be held as per that law without prejudice to the contentions of the petitioners?" Justice Kant asked.
Mehta agreed elections couldn't be stalled but said the law enacted by the assembly should not be disturbed at the moment.
"Is there any logic? Today bureaucrats are occupying all the municipal corporations and panchayats and taking major policy decisions. Because of all this litigation, a complete democratic process has been stalled. Officers have no accountability. Why not hold the elections as per the data that existed prior to the 2022 report?" the judge asked Mehta.
Jaising said 34,000 seats meant for OBCs were de-reserved.
On August 22, 2022, the top court directed the SEC and the Maharashtra government to maintain the status quo with regard to the poll process to the local bodies in the state.
The top court passed the order on a plea of the Maharashtra government seeking a recall of the apex court order by which it directed the SEC not to re-notify the poll process to 367 local bodies, where it has already begun, in order to provide reservation to OBCs.
The state government came out with an ordinance providing 27 percent reservation for the OBC in local body polls.
The government then moved the top court seeking a recall or modification of its order.
The top court on July 28, 2022, warned the state poll panel of contempt action if it re-notified the election process to such local bodies.
The apex court quashed the SEC notification to provide 27 percent quotas for OBCs in local bodies in 2021, and in December of the same year, it ruled reservation for OBCs in local bodies was not to be allowed unless the government fulfilled the triple test laid down in the top court's 2010 order.
The top court ruled the OBC seats would be re-notified as general category seats until then.
The triple test required the state government to set up a dedicated commission to gather data on the backwardness of OBCs in every local body, to specify the proportion of reservation in each local body in light of the commission&rsquo;s recommendations, and to ensure such reservation did not exceed 50 percent of the total seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC together.
Ninety-two municipal councils and four nagar panchayats figured in the list of 367 local bodies where the election process had already been set in motion at the time when the status quo was passed.
There cannot be reservations for these 367 local bodies, the court said.

In view of the current national and international conditions, mock drills will be held on Wednesday in five cities of the state including Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Katni from 4 pm.
The drills will be conducted for activities like warning of danger through siren, blackout, keeping major infrastructure safe, safe evacuation of injured in case of accident, he said.

Volunteers are also coordinating with various agencies including the district disaster management cell, fire brigade, police, defence forces, and medical services to prepare for the comprehensive mock drill, he said.
District disaster management cell officer Vitthal Banaute said a meeting of all stakeholders including representatives of Civil Defence, police, local administration, defence entities, health officials and fire services has been convened to finalize preparations for the exercise.

The meeting saw participation from chief secretaries, civil defence heads, and officials from key Central forces, including Directors General of Civil Defence and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). During the discussions, officials identified critical "loopholes" in the existing defence mechanisms.
"We reviewed preparedness and have pinpointed areas needing improvement," a senior National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) official disclosed to TNIE.
An advisory was issued on Monday by the Ministry of Home Affairs urging all states and UTs to conduct coordinated civil defence exercises. These drills will encompass all of India's 244 designated civil defence districts, many of which are perceived as vulnerable to potential threats, including wartime scenarios.
Of the 244 sites, 19 have been prioritized for the upcoming drill on Wednesday, sources revealed.
The exercise aims to assess and bolster the civil defence machinery's readiness against potential hostile attacks or emergencies. Simulating a war-like situation, the drill will include operationalizing air raid warning systems, activating sirens, and coordinating responses from local emergency services.
"The goal is to ensure that the nation and its administrative structures are prepared for any contingencies arising from a hostile environment. This civil defence drill, the first in decades, will concurrently test infrastructure and human response across various regions," an official stated.
This will be the first national-level civil defence exercise since 1971, with no such drills conducted even during the 1999 Kargil conflict (Operation Vijay).
Officials emphasize the necessity of public cooperation, with local authorities expected to issue detailed guidelines on how residents in vulnerable zones should react during the drill. State disaster response forces, health departments, local police, and district administrations will actively partake in the exercise.
The drill's backdrop&mdash;growing tension on the western border&mdash;magnifies its urgency. The April 22 attack in Pahalgam, which killed several security personnel and civilians, has heightened fears of cross-border terrorism and potential escalations.
Although the government has not explicitly linked the mock drill to the current geopolitical climate, its timing has attracted attention from analysts and defence observers.
"This is a definitive statement that India is not underestimating any threat. While formally a routine preparedness measure, the drill's timing and scale are clearly influenced by the worsening regional security climate," noted a senior retired military officer.
As India prepares for the May 7 drill, authorities are urging citizens to remain calm, stressing that the exercises are precautionary and aim to enhance national resilience.

He highlighted that the Aam Aadmi Party had promised to appoint lawyers from poor and backward families, and this amendment fulfills that commitment.&nbsp;
The Finance Minister explained that the Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, had reserved 58 posts in the Advocate General's office for Scheduled Caste candidates. However, many seats remained vacant due to the high income limit set by the 2017 law. This amendment aims to reduce the income limit, making it more accessible for Scheduled Caste candidates to join the office of the Advocate General.
Finance Minister Cheema also addressed the Congress party's stance on this issue, stating that despite having two cabinet ministers from Scheduled Castes, they failed to protect the rights of these communities. He recalled his own efforts to advocate for reservation in the 2017 Act, which were unfortunately not accepted by the previous Congress government.
Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat and MLAs including Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi, Budh Ram Singh, Nachhatar Pal, Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya, and Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary thanked the Finance Minister and the state government for bringing this much-needed amendment.

"A little while ago, the Indian armed forces launched 'Operation Sindoor' hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed," the defence ministry said in a statement at 1.44 am.
It said the actions by the Indian armed forces have been "focused, measured and non-escalatory" in nature and that no Pakistani military facilities have been targeted.
"India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution," it said.
Sources said the strikes on all nine targets, including Bahawalpur and Muridke, were successful and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was monitoring 'Operation Sindoor' closely.
Muridke, located a short distance from Lahore, is home to a sprawling "markaz" or base of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Bahawalpur is the main stronghold of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
The other targets -- Kotli and Muzaffarabad -- are regions in PoK where both LeT and JeM have for long had camps and training facilities, people familiar with the matter said on condition of anonymity.
The name for the action -- Operation Sindoor -- is a reference to the red vermillion that Hindu women wear to signify their married status. In the Pahalgam terror attack, the husbands of several women were killed in front of them including an Indian Navy officer.
The terror attack triggered widespread outrage in India and abroad, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowing to deal a "crushing blow to terrorism".
"These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered," the defence ministry said in the statement.
"We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable," it said.
In a post on 'X' in Hindi shortly after the strikes, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said: "Long live Mother India!" (Bharat Mata Ki Jai).

Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that missile strikes were carried out by India at Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Bahawalpur in Punjab.
"All of our air force jets are airborne. This cowardly and shameful attack was carried out from within India's airspace. They were never allowed to come and intrude into the space of Pakistan," he said Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his country has every right to give a "befitting reply to this act of war imposed by India." "The Pakistani nation and the Pakistani armed forces know how to deal with the enemy very well," he said.
The Pakistan foreign ministry condemned India's action.
"In an unprovoked and blatant act of war, the Indian Air Force, while remaining within Indian airspace, has violated Pakistan's sovereignty using standoff weapons, targeting the civilian population across the international border in Muridke and Bahawalpur, and across the Line of Control in Kotli and Muzaffarabad," it said.
It claimed India's "act of aggression" has resulted in the death of civilians, adding "Pakistan reserves the right to respond appropriately at a time and place of its choosing." Sources in the Indian military establishment said all air defence units have been put on alert along the frontier with Pakistan.
The top military brass of India was closely monitoring the operation, they said.
Following Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army said on 'X': "Justice is Served." After the operation, India reached out to several leading countries, including the US, Russia, the UK and Saudi Arabia, and briefed them about the military strike on the nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir, the sources said.
"Senior Indian officials have spoken to their counterparts in a number of countries to brief them on the steps taken by India," said a source.
"Among these are the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Russia," it said.
The operation came days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the armed forces full freedom to respond to the Pahalgam terror attack.

Hospitals currently offering dialysis services include Lok Nayak Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital among others. The newly added facilities include Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Janakpuri Super Specialty Hospital and Burari Hospital.
Under the PMNDP, dialysis will be free for BPL cardholders and beneficiaries in the PR and PRS categories with annual incomes below Rs 1 lakh. For the PPP model hospitals, residents who have lived in Delhi for at least three years and have valid identification and an annual income below Rs 3 lakh will also receive the service free of charge.
To ensure quality treatment, the government is deploying radiologists, trained technicians and support staff at all dialysis centres.
"This step is not just about expanding infrastructure, it is a strong message to the people that the government stands with them in their time of need," said Singh.

The mock drills, being held in response to the &ldquo;new and complex threats&rdquo; that have emerged amid rising tensions with Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, will begin at 4 pm.
As part of the mock drill, various aspects of Civil Defence preparedness will be assessed.
State Chief Secretary A Jayathilak has instructed all District Collectors and other officials to ensure the proper execution of the mock drill.
He also stated that the public, institutions, and organisations should cooperate with the exercise, remain alert, and that there is no need for concern.
Preparations for the Civil Defence mock drill were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting convened by the Chief Secretary.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretaries of the Home, Revenue, and Health &amp; Family Welfare Departments, the State Police Chief, the Director General of Fire and Rescue Services, the Special Secretary and Commissioner of Disaster Management, District Collectors, and other top officials.
As part of the drill, residents' associations and panchayats are expected to appoint local leaders to guide people. Everyone should be made aware of the blackout instructions in advance.
Announcements may be made from places of worship if required. Local-level drills are also being organised.
Schools, community halls, and other key locations should keep first aid kits ready.
Volunteers in each area will assist those who may require help during the blackout. People are advised to stay indoors and follow the instructions given by drill wardens.
Remaining calm and alert is important throughout the exercise.
During the drill, all lights in homes, offices, and public places must be switched off. If emergency lights are used, windows should be covered with thick curtains or cardboard to prevent light from escaping.
People should avoid using mobile phones or any light-emitting devices near windows. Households should be prepared with torches, glow sticks, radios, drinking water, dry food, and essential medicines.
At 4 pm, when the siren sounds, everyone should move to the safest part of their home. Families are encouraged to carry out a 'family drill' together.
A long siren indicates a warning, while a short siren signals that it is safe. People who are outdoors should move indoors promptly.
Radios and televisions should be used to follow official updates.
Gas and electrical appliances must be switched off as soon as the siren is heard to prevent accidents. It is also essential to ensure the safety of children and pets during the blackout.

The move comes in wake of the Union home ministry directing all states to conduct mock drills on Wednesday, given the "new and complex threats" that have emerged amid rising tensions with Pakistan following the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
The blackout drill will be conducted from 7:30 pm to 7:40 pm on Wednesday, Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav told reporters.
As part of the drill, air raid warning sirens will be activated at 7:30 pm and continue for 10 minutes.
"I appeal to all citizens to switch off the lights in their homes for 10 minutes. If possible, they should remain at home so that the preparation for a blackout can be conducted," Yadav said.
Confirming that power at hospitals, clinics and medical institutions will not be switched off during the drill, he advised residents to keep their generator or inverter sets shut.
He also appealed against hoarding essentials such as petrol, diesel and ration.
The Chandigarh deputy commissioner said the administration had spoken to residents' welfare and market associations regarding the drill and added shopkeepers at markets and malls were urged to turn off their lights.
"If people are outside for work, they should park their vehicles and turn off its lights," he said.
The blackout drill will be conducted in a controlled and supervised manner to assess response and adaptability of emergency services, Yadav said.
"It is a preparatory step and we do not need to panic. The alarm will shut at 7:40 pm and business will be as usual after that," he added.
He also confirmed that the drill was voluntary.
The exercise is a part of the administration's continued efforts to evaluate and enhance the efficacy of emergency response mechanisms in real-time situations.
It will involve coordinated participation from multiple agencies, including fire and emergency services, police, health department, municipal corporation and disaster management authorities.
Trained volunteers from the Civil Defence, National Service Scheme and the National Cadet Corps will play an active role.
The deputy commissioner appealed for full cooperation from the public during the drill.
He requested residents to remain calm, avoid panic and not believe or circulate any rumours regarding the day's activities.
The drill is purely a preparedness exercise and does not pose any real threat. Such mock drills shall be carried out in the coming days, Yadav said.
In view of strengthening disaster preparedness and enhancing coordination among emergency response agencies, the Chandigarh deputy commissioner convened a comprehensive review meeting with key stakeholders on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on the execution plan and logistical preparedness for a full-scale mock drill for building collapse and fire incident at two locations, according to an official release.
Meanwhile, the Mohali district administration said a mock drill would be conducted at two sites.
District Magistrate Komal Mittal said two academic and industrial sites would undergo an evacuation exercise to assess the effectiveness of air-raid warning systems.
A blackout drill will also be conducted from 7:30 pm to 7:40 pm.
