While business discussions are off the table, his oil-to-retail conglomerate has businesses closely tied to decisions of the US President.
Reliance had last year secured waivers from the US to resume importing crude oil from Venezuela. It however had to stop that in March following Trump authorising a 25 per cent tariff on countries buying the South American country's oil.
Reliance also sells fuels like gasoline made from crude oil bought from countries such as Russia into the American market.
Also, US tech giants such as Google and Meta have taken an equity stake in Ambani's digital venture.
Reliance has business ties with Qatar as well. The Gulf nation's sovereign wealth fund, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has invested about USD 1 billion in Ambani's retail venture.
Ambani and his wife Nita had attended Trump's second inauguration in January. They were also part of the select 100 who attended an intimate candlelit dinner with Trump a day prior to the inauguration.
At the dinner, the two had met Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha as well, sources said.
Ambanis share close ties with the Trump family.
The richest Indian was present when Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump, visited Hyderabad for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2017. She was an advisor to President Trump then.
He was also present when Trump visited India last as the US President in February 2020.

The CBI is likely to question the senior management of Shapoorji Pollonji Infrastructure Gujarat Private Ltd in connection with an alleged case of bribery of Rs 85 lakh, in which a Commissioner of Income Tax and a company executive were arrested, officials said Wednesday.
Viral Kantilal Mehta, deputy general manager (Taxation) of Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group, had already paid Rs 15 lakh to two middlemen based in Mumbai - Sajida Majhar Hussain Shah and Prakash Shambaji Pawar, both residents of Chembur, against an alleged bribe demand of Rs 1.20 crore from Commissioner of Income Tax Jeevan Lal Lavidiya for favourable disposal of a taxation appeal filed by the company, the CBI FIR has alleged.
Mehta was arrested by the CBI after paying the second instalment of Rs 70 lakh to a middleman in Mumbai on May 9.
"It needs to be examined who cleared the payment of such a large amount of alleged bribes. The role of everyone involved in the alleged conspiracy will be examined during the course of the investigation," an official said.
In a statement after the CBI operation on May 10, the company had said the group is committed to fully cooperating with the relevant authorities in their investigations.
"The SP Group has been made aware of a serious allegation of misconduct against an employee of one of our Group Company subsidiaries. The alleged conduct was not with the knowledge of the Group, nor was it sanctioned by it. In fact, this goes against the very values and policies that the Group upholds in its business operations," the company had said in a statement.
It said, given the seriousness of these allegations, the Group has already launched an internal enquiry into the alleged conduct and will take the necessary steps based on the outcome of the investigation.
The central agency had received the inputs that Lavidiya had already decided to issue a favourable order from the company and was waiting for a final submission from the company.
According to the FIR, Mehta sought time from Lavidiya to make the company's final submission and the company management's " permission " to pay the alleged bribe to him.
"Source has further informed that the management of Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure Gujarat Private Ltd. has now given permission to Viral Kantilal Mehta for payment of Rs 70 lakh to Jeevan Lal Lavidiya, Commissioner of Income Tax for their pending matter," the CBI FIR had alleged.
They said Lavidiya, a 2004-batch Indian Revenue Service officer posted as Commissioner Income Tax (Exemption), Hyderabad, with additional charges as Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals Unit-8 and Unit-7), was arrested along with Mehta and agents Sairam Palisetty, Natta Veera Naga Sri Ram Gopal, and Sajida Majhar Hussain Shah.
The CBI is also examining other alleged instances of bribes received by Lavidiya to clear companies' appeals.
"Source has informed that Jeevan Lal Lavidiya, while dealing with an appeal of NDW Development Corporation LLP, Mumbai, had obtained a flat at Mumbai worth Rs. 2.5 crores as bribe, which belonged to Aviation Hotels Pvt Ltd., a group company of NDW Development Corporation," the FIR has alleged.
It also alleged that the officer registered the flat as "benami" with Dandela Venkateswarlu, a resident of Khammam District, as the front and kept the registry documents in his custody. Lavidiya is also a native of Khamman.
The CBI FIR further alleged that while handling the matters of Ventura Securities Ltd., Thane and Anandrao Shitole, Mumbai, Lavidiya had allegedly obtained bribe of Rs 20 lakh and Rs 15 lakh through middlemen and routed through hawala channels.
The accused officer received Rs 15 lakh through his middleman while processing the appeal of Hemantkumar Rajendrakumar Shah, Ahmedabad, according to the allegations in the FIR.
The amount was allegedly kept in the bank account of his acquaintance and routed through hawala channels, it had said.

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has apprehended a senior inspector of Shivaji Nagar police station here while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a school trustee for taking legal action, an official said on Wednesday.
Inspector Bapurao Madhukar Deshmukh allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh from the complainant who is a joint trustee of a school in Shivaji Nagar area, the official said.
The trustee approached Deshmukh seeking help after a rival group in the school trust broke the lock of the school's main gate and tried to take it over illegally in August 2024, the complaint said.
He requested Deshmukh that the rival group should be stopped from entering the school until the Charity Commissioner passed an order on the dispute.
Deshmukh said he could help with preventing the group from entering the school and registering a case of trespass against them, but allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh from the trustee.
The amount was later negotiated to Rs 3 lakh, following which the complainant approached the ACB.
A trap was laid and Deshmukh was held on Tuesday.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against Deshmukh and further probe is underway, the official said.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 43 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, the weather department said.
The department has also predicted a thunderstorm at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometre per hour accompanied by light to moderate rain in some parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Kota division for Wednesday.

Additionally, Rs 7.28 crore has been approved for the construction of a suspension bridge on the footpath leading to the Panchkedar Shri Masta Madmaheshwar temple in Ukhimath block, Kedarnath constituency, and Rs 3.61 crore for the improvement and asphalting of Syalgi-Juladgaon-Dodak-Thapla motor road in Pratapnagar constituency, Tehri Garhwal district.
Furthermore, Rs 2.18 crore has been sanctioned for the electricity supply work for the Manpur-Kashipur residential project under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

Speaking at a program here, she said the state government has spent Rs 800 crore to contain river erosion.
"River erosion has claimed over 1,600 hectares of land in Dhulian, Samserganj, Lalgola, and Bhagabangola. We have given the Centre a proposal of Rs 1,300 crore, but they are sitting on it," she said.
"We have spent Rs 800 crore to contain river erosion and will spend another Rs 175 crore," she added.
Banerjee also announced that to strengthen the administration in Suti, Dhulian, and Farakka, the state government would set up a new sub-divisional office.
"I hope that the work will be completed in a month. The office will be set up at a centralised location," she said.

Activists of the Samity, which is the central committee of over 100 organisations of the Bengali community of Jharkhand, also opposed the proposed renaming of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee University in Ranchi.
A memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren was handed over to the deputy commissioner demanding that Bengali be taught in schools and adequate textbooks in the language be made available.
Juran Mukherjee, general secretary of the Samity's East Singhbhum unit, criticised Education Minister Ramdas Soren for his alleged misleading remarks about Bengali-speaking students in the state.
A delegation of the Samity had recently met the education minister to apprise him about the problems faced by Bengali language students across Jharkhand.
During the meeting, Soren had said there were no Bengali-speaking students and asked the Samity to bring such students to schools, then the government would provide textbooks and teachers, Mukherjee said in a statement.
"It is completely incorrect and misleading. His remark has sparked widespread opposition in the society," the statement said.
Mukherjee claimed that out of 24 districts of the state, 16 were predominantly Bengali-speaking, while Bengali-speaking students were present in every school.
The Samity alleged that a deliberate conspiracy was being hatched to marginalise the Bengali language since a separate Jharkhand state was formed two-and-a-half decades ago.
Mukherjee strongly demanded that appropriate measures be taken to preserve the Bengali language in the state.
He said the Samity opposes the state government's decision to rename the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University in Ranchi, hailing the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder as a great nationalist and educationist.
