T20 World Cup ENG vs NZL highlights: England beat New Zealand in their Group 1 encounter of the T20 World Cup by 20 runs as the Three Lions kept their semi-finals hopes alive with the 2nd win in the tournament.

Deciding to bat first, the opening duo of skipper Jos Buttler and Alex Hales got England off to a flying start with an 81-run partnership in 10 overs.

It seemed that the Kiwis would have to chase down a huge total but New Zealand bounced back as wickets at regular intervals derailed England. Despite that, Jos Buttler's 73 runs off 47 balls helped his side finish at 179/6.

Chasing which, the Blackcaps didn't have the best of starts as they lost both their openers Finn Allen and Devon Conway by the 5th over. Skipper Kane Williamson with a run-a-ball 40 and an in-form Glenn Phillips with a fiery 62 helped New Zealand regain some momentum but they could eventually reach 159/6.

England's win means that Group 1 is still not decided with the top 3 teams tied at 5 points each.
