A top police official has issued a warning about a potential "Lone Wolf" attack on the India-Pakistan World Cup Cricket match at Nassau Stadium in New York City on June 9, prompting heightened security measures by the local police.

According to a report, a recently published graphic from the terrorist organization depicts a man wearing a hood with a rifle on his shoulder.

"You wait for the matches...and we wait for you," read the caption, with two drones circling in the sky above the stadium.

"Lone Wolves" are individuals associated with terrorist groups who follow the groups' instructions and act on their own, complicating efforts to monitor and apprehend them.

Governor Kathy Hochul of New York has instructed the New York State Police to implement heightened security measures, such as more law enforcement, enhanced surveillance, and rigorous screening procedures.

Bruce Blakeman, who leads Nassau County adjacent to New York City, stated during a press briefing, "We ensure we are prepared for any possible situation that may occur." Now, in order to achieve that goal, we have implemented numerous precautions.

Additional police officers will be mobilised at the cricket stadium at Eisenhower Park, Ryder said at the news conference.
