ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Australia vs Ireland highlights: Aaron Finch's men keep semis hopes alive

With 1 of their game lost and 1 going down the drain out of the 3 played, it was important for Australia to win big on Monday and the hosts did exactly that. The Aussies beat Ireland by 42 runs to claim their 2nd win in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Put into bat, the Men in Yellow were denied a flying start as they were 84/3 after 11 overs. However, skipper Aaron Finch finally found his mojo back and smashed a 44-ball-63. Last match's hero Marcus Stoinis also chipped in with a quick 35 as the Aussies finished at 179/8.

Ireland's run-chase began on a disastrous note as they lost half their side with just 25 runs on the board. Lorcan Tucker though tried to steady the ship but no support from the other end meant that his unbeaten 71 went in vain as the Irish were bowled out for 137.

Australia now has 5 points from 4 games, while Ireland remain on 3 points from as many outings.
