Confirmed: India to host its first MotoGP race in 2023

In a historic first for India, MotoGP announced that the country will be hosting its first-ever race next year, marking the return of a big-ticket motorsport event in the country after Formula 1's departure nine years ago.

India will make its debut on the MotoGP calendar in 2023 with the race taking place at the Buddh International Circuit, in Uttar Pradesh. The 5.1 km track on the outskirts of New Delhi was a part of the Formula One calendar between 2011-13 before it was dropped, citing financial & bureaucratic hurdles.

The country will be hosting the world's premier two-wheeler racing event for a period of seven years at least after commerical rights owner Dorna and Noida-based Fairstreet Sports signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
