The Virat Kohli fan was detained by the Madhya Pradesh police after the incident during the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs. Punjab Kings.

A young fan breached the security to meet his idol Virat Kohli during the IPL 2024 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday.

In a video shared by a fan from the stadium, The pitch invader made his way to meet Kohli and proceeded to touch his feet and hug him. However, the security personnel ran towards the fan and immediately took him off the field to avoid any potential disruption to the match.

Kohli also played a pivotal role in taking RCB to their maiden victory of IPL 2024.

Virat Kohli got back to his groove as he brought up his first half-century of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. In Royal Challengers Bangalore's opening match against Chennai Super Kings, the 35-year-old failed to deliver his best as he scored just 21 off 20 balls at a strike rate of 105.

However, Virat Kohli managed to silence his critics by unleashing his firepower and taking on Punjab Kings' bowling attack.

Virat Kohli played an incredible innings of 77 off 49 balls at a strike rate of 157.16. His knock consisted of 11 fours and 2 sixes. Kohli's brilliant effort paid off as Royal Challengers Bangalore earned their first victory of the season with a four-wicket win over Punjab Kings.

Dinesh Karthik (28*) and Mahipal Lomror (17*) formed a crucial 48-run partnership to achieve a 177-run target with four balls to spare in the final over of the match.
