Rajasthan Royals registered a hat-trick of wins as they thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 29 runs in their 2nd meeting of IPL 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium, Pune on Tuesday.

Despite a comparatively small score on board, RCB failed as their top order disappointed them yet again. While Virat Kohli lost his wicket early in the powerplay, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell too walked back on Kuldeep Sen’s consecutive deliveries.

Thereafter, wickets kept falling in regular intervals. RCB then, pinned their hopes on Shahbaz Ahmed but he too faltered on R Ashwin’s strike and went back after scoring a mere 17 in 27 balls. Ashwin and Sen starred as they picked 3 and 4 wickets respectively for Rajasthan. Bangalore were all out for 115 in 19.3 overs, which is their lowest 2nd innings score in IPL 2022.

While the top order failed miserably, losing 3 wickets in the powerplay, Riyan Parag’s sensible 56* in 31 balls helped them set a modest target. Siraj, Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga got 2 wickets each, Harshal patel managed 1 as they together tied-down Rajasthan to a 144-run total
