IPL 2022, RCB VS RR: Dinesh Karthik powers RCB to a 4 wicket win over Rajasthan

Royal Challengers Bangalore handed Rajasthan Royals their first defeat of IPL 2022 as they register a thrilling 4-wicket win in their 3rd match on Tuesday at the Wankhede Stadium.

Dinesh Karthik along with Shahbaz Ahmed were the highlight of the evening as they took the team over the finish line in 19.1 overs after a miserable top-order collapse. After a steady start, RCB lost 4 wickets in 11 balls, immediately putting their opposition in a dominating position. But Dinesh Karthik(44 in 23 balls) along with Shahbaz Ahmed (26 ball 45) with their 67 run partnership in 33 balls changed the game. While Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult got 2 wickets, Navdeep Saini picked 1 wicket for Rajasthan.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler who batted through the innings helped RR post an unexpected 170 run target for Bangalore. It was a slow innings until Buttler along with Hetmyer brought vigour as the duo smashed a fiery 42 in the last 2 overs. While Buttler scored an unbeaten 70 in 47 balls, Shimron Hetmyer and Devdutt Padikkal supported him with 42* in 31 and 37 off 29 balls respectively.

RCB who have now won 2 out of 3 matches will next play MI on 9th April and RR will face LSG on 10th April.
