The Knight Riders have won 2 out of their 3 matches this season and are coming off 2 straight wins. The team looks solid and has winning momentum as well. For KKR, the form of Andre Russell is crucial as the West Indian all-rounder is firing all cylinders for the team. With 95 runs in 3 matches, Russell was instrumental in KKR’s big win over Punjab Kings. Umesh Yadav with 8 wickets in 3 games has been a revelation for the Knight Riders and currently holds the Purple Cap. The top order including the openers need to fire as Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer are due for big scores.

Mumbai Indians meanwhile are struggling for a win in IPL 2022. They lost to Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals after their bowling unit failed to deliver on both occasions. The batting unit led by Captain Rohit Sharma is also under the scanner as no one apart from Ishan Kishan appears to be comfortable on the pitch. Apart from Tymal Mills who has 4 wickets in 2 games, bowlers have failed to deliver for MI. All eyes will be on Jasprit Bumrah as the celebrated speedster has looked off-colour so far and the wicket in Pune might just help him get his mojo back.

Mumbai vs Kolkata Head to Head Record

In the 29 meetings between these two heavyweights of IPL, Mumbai Indians have dominated with 22 wins while Kolkata has registered just 7 victories.
