IPL 2022, LSG VS GT Highlights: Their first match, their first win!

Gujarat Titans (GT) began their IPL journey with a bang as they defeated Lucknow Super Giants(LSG) by 5 wickets in a nail-biter on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium.

Fiery Rahul Tewatia was the star of the match as he turned the sluggish game on its head after hitting a total of 7 boundaries in the last 5 overs. Tewatia along with David Miller brought the Hardik Pandya-led side back into the game with a splendid partnership of 60 in 34 balls. While Miller scored 21-ball-30, Tewatia smashed a blazing 40* off 24 balls. Earlier in 2020 too, the ace all-rounder, Tewatia had helped Rajasthan register a stunning win after smashing 5 sixes against a KL-Rahul led Punjab.

Earlier, Lucknow Team who were sent in to bat first made a solid comeback after Mohd Shami rattled the top order. Shami ousted the LSG skipper for a golden duck, and then also got the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Manish Pandey. Thereafter, their star all-rounder Deepak Hooda and debutant Ayush Badoni revived the side's game with a half-century each and helped them post a decent 159 run-target.
