IPL 2022: 'Kohli is seeing the lighter side', Faf du Plessis on Virat Kohli's dismissals

Virat Kohli's lean patch with his willow is only extending. Another low-scoring innings for one of the greatest batters of his time came up against Punjab Kings when Kohli perished after scoring just 20 runs in 14 balls in RCB's 54-run defeat on Friday. However, Faf du Plessis said that despite the worst of dismissals, the baffled ex-skipper is seeing the lighter side of it.

Backing his predecessor, du Plessis said, 'every single way that you can possibly get out is happening to him, bad patches happen to all of us, he has taken it on the right note'

'He played some good shots tonight, obviously would want him to carry on', he added. Kohli's 20 runs came at a strike rate of 142, which included a six and a couple of fours.

Kohli has suffered 3 golden ducks, and 2 run-outs this season, which is very unlike him. The 33-year-old batter has only scored 213 runs in 13 matches for RCB this season at a strike rate of 113. This includes a single half-century that he scored against Gujarat Titans. His average has drooped to a mere 19 in the ongoing season.

RCB jeopardised their playoff chances with an embarrassing loss against Punjab. They now need to win their final league game against Gujarat on 19th May to reach the playoffs.
