He was once considered one of the best umpires in the world but such has been the fall from grace that former Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf now finds himself running a shop in Lahore after leaving cricket.
Rauf was a well-known figure during his umpiring career but his life took a turn for the worse after match-fixing allegations were made against him during IPL 2013.

Despite such a drastic change in his life in the past decade, the 66-year-old Rauf is passionate about his new business and doesn't miss the game anymore.
Rauf told a Pakistani news channel that because he has umpired in so many games in the past, there is nothing left for him to see.
Notably, the BCCI banned Rauf from officiating IPL matches for five years in 2016, bringing curtains down on his career. In his 13 years as an international umpire, Rauf officiated in 49 Tests, 98 ODIs, and 23 T20Is.

What comes a major setback for India's preparations for World T20, pacer Deepak Chahar revealed that he would take four-five more weeks to completely recover from the hamstring injury. 
Chahar is currently doing his rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy. 
While talking to news agency PTI after his rehab session, Chahar said that he is bowling four-five overs at one go as per his rehab programme and the recovery is going pretty well.
The 29-year-old pacer sustained an injury during the West Indies's home series, which had ruled him out of the entire IPL 2022.

Rajasthan Royals did not break a 12-year-old tradition of the Indian Premier League as they qualified for the finals in the 15th edition of the lucrative league. Since 2011, every year, teams qualifying in the 2nd spot on the IPL points table have made it to the final. In the 2022 season too, Rajasthan Royals who qualified at the 2nd spot in the table reached the finals after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2 of the IPL. The team won by 7 wickets on the back of an unbeaten sensational 106 run knock by Jos Buttler. The Sanju Samson-led-side who had won the 2008, inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League have entered the finals after 14 years. They will now face debutants Gujarat Titans for the IPL 2022 finals on 29th May at the Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad.

After a brilliant fightback in the 5-match T20 series vs South Africa, Team India's limited-overs squad will shift its focus towards Ireland as the Men in Blue take on the hosts in the 1st T20 in Dublin on Sunday.
As Rishabh Pant has joined the Test squad in England, Hardik Pandya has been assigned the captaincy duties for the first time in his career. His experience of recently leading the Gujarat Titans to win the IPL in its inaugural season will come in handy.

Tamil Nadu cricketer Narayan Jagadeesan has issued an apology for an indecent gesture after his dismissal in the opening match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Thursday. 
Baba Aparajith ran-out Jagadeesan for backing at the non-striker end, which was earlier called Mankading, following which the opening batter lost his cool. After being judged out, Jagadeesan turned around to show his middle finger in the bowler's direction. He then repeated the action again. 
After backlash from the fans, Jagadeesan realised it was a mistake and took to social media to write an apology note. He wrote that cricket has always been what he lives for and the sportsmanship that comes along with the sport is something he deeply respects. This is why it's very hard for him to digest how he reacted. 
'No excuses for what has been done. I will do better and be better,' he added while regretting his action.

The surge Indian Premier League is not going down well with Pakistan Cricket Board. PCB chief Ramiz Raja has decided to challenge the proposed two-and-a-half-month IPL window in future ICC meet. 
"We will challenge it in a very forceful manner and put our point across strongly in the ICC, " PCB chief said.

Notably, the last match of the series was postponed in 2021 due to Covid-19 scare.
