'He doesn't need advice': Sanju Samson hails centurion Jaiswal after his knock against MI | IPL 2024

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a hundred as table-toppers Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians by nine wickets in their Indian Premier League match on Monday.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (104 off 60 balls) and Jos Buttler (35 off 25 balls) got RR off to a strong start, while captain Sanju Samson's 38-run effort helped the team to close out the innings.

After the victory, Samson expressed his satisfaction with Jaiswal's comeback, pointing out that the team had known it would only take one more game for Jaiswal to regain his form.

Speaking to the broadcasters after the match, Sanju said, “I don't think he needs anyone's advice. He is always with a lot of confidence, we just knew that it was a matter of one game. The way he batted in the powerplay, he was calm, and composed and knew that things were under control. We knew in the dugout that he is playing some good cricketing shots and he'll be fine today."

After winning the toss, MI decided to bat first. Tilak Varma (65) and Nehal Wadhera (49) were the only two standout batters for the Mumbai-based franchise in the first inning. Varma and Wadhera's knock powered MI to 179/9.

Sandeep Sharma led the Royals' bowling attack after he picked up five wickets in his four-over spell and gave just 18 runs. Meanwhile, Trent Boult bagged 2 wickets.

During the run chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal (104) guided the hosts to their 7th win of the season as they beat MI by 9 wickets.
