In all, India gave away 208 runs in boundaries in the fourth innings. A similar turnaround happened in South Africa, where the Proteas handed India 7-wicket losses in the final two Tests. The Indian bowlers in South Africa too shone at the beginning. However, they failed miserably in the final innings of the low-scoring affairs, eventually losing the series 2-1.There also, India were favourites to win the matches, much like they were when they took a 132-run lead in the first innings in the Edgbaston Test. The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) banned journalist Boria Majumdar for bullying and intimidating Wriddhiman Saha after the wicket-keeper batter was dropped from the India Test squad.
Boria is now banned for two years from getting BCCI accreditation as a media person for any domestic or international game played in India.
He will not be able to get any interviews with registered players in India. He won't be allowed to access any cricket stadiums in India,
Notably, BCCI decided to prove the matter after WhatsApp messages between Saha and Boia went viral on the social media platform Twitter.

Notably, <a href="https://www.editorji.com/sports-news/cricket/bcci-sets-up-3-member-committee-to-investigate-threats-intimidation-from-senior-journalist-to-saha-1645850735141" target="_blank">BCCI decided to probe the matter</a> after WhatsApp messages between Saha and Boia went viral on the social media platform Twitter.

BCCI on Wednesday announced India's squad for the 3-match ODI series against the West Indies. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested from the ODI leg and Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team in their absence.
Ravindra Jadeja has been named vice-captain for the series to be played at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The 1st ODI will be played on July 22, followed by the 2nd and 3rd one-day games on July 24 and July 27 respectively. Team India is then slated to play a 3-match T20 series vs the Windies starting July 29.
Senior players might have been rested keeping in mind the World T20 later this year. It will though be a golden opportunity for young players like Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav to prove their mettle.

India lost their third position to Pakistan in the ICC World Test Championships standings after being penalised for slow-over rate and docked two points by the ICC during India's seven-wicket defeat in the fifth Test at Edgbaston on Tuesday.
Apart from this, India have also been fined 40% of their match fee for the offence.
India were placed 3rd before the rescheduled 5th Test against England and are now placed 4th on the WTC standings with 75 points (point percentage of 52.08). Australia and South Africa are placed first & second respectively.
Earlier, England chased down their record-378 runs target against India at Edgbaston which helped the hosts to draw the series 2-2 and also lifted them to the 7th spot on the WTC table.
Having lost the Test against England, India now have lost 4 matches, won 6 and drawn 2 in this cycle of WTC.
