IPL 2023, GT vs DC: Bottom-placed Delhi upset table toppers Gujarat with stunning bowling comeback

Delhi Capitals pulled off an incredible upset victory in Ahmedabad, where they defeating table-toppers & defending champions Gujarat Titans by 5 runs in a low-scoring encounter.

Deciding to bat first, the visitors got off to the worst possible start and lost their top 5 batters for a collective total of just 23 runs, courtesy of a swing masterclass by Mohd Shami, who registered his career-best IPL figures of 4/11.

Aman Khan's maiden T20 fifty, along with Axar's 27 & Ripal Patel's late cameo ensured Delhi posted 130 on the board.

Even though Delhi had their backs to the wall, they came out fighting with the ball.Wriddhiman Saha was sent back to the hut for a duck in what was a wicket-maiden by Khaleel Ahmed in the first over itself.

Saha's opening partner Shubman Gill was next on Delhi's hit list and got dismissed cheaply for just 6.After Delhi reduced Gujarat to 32/4, skipper Hardik Pandya (59*) and Abhinav Manohar (26) tried to stabilise the innings even though it means runs weren't coming as quickly.

With the run-rate climbing, Gujarat found it very hard to accelerate with Hardik struggling to find the boundaries despite scoring a fifty.
