IPL 2022, LSG vs PBKS: Krunal, Chameera star as Lucknow beat Punjab by 20 runs

Debutant Lucknow Super Giants showed yet again that they are a force to reckon with as KL Rahul-led side gunned down Punjab Kings by 20 runs at MCA Stadium in Pune on Friday night. Lucknow strengthen their position in the top half of the IPL 2022 points after their sixth win.

Chasing a modest 154-run target, Mayank Agarwal provided Punjab a brisk start with 17-ball 25 but did not get much support from other end. After the dismissal of Mayank, Punjab never looked to chase down the target as they lost wickets in heaps in search of boundaries. Krunal Pandya was exceptional with the ball and returned with the figures of 2 for 11. Mohsin Khan and Dushmanth Chameera took three and two wickets respectively as Punjab managed to score 133-8 in 20 Overs.

Earlier, Lucknow were off to a poor start as KL Rahul fell early. Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda then steadied LSG's ship and stitched an 85-run stand for the second wicket. After the dismissal of de Kock and Hooda, Rabada triggered a massive collapse as Super Giants lost five wickets for only 13 runs in the middle overs. Rabada returned with the figures of 4 for 38. Tailenders Mohsin Khan and Dusmantha Chameera's big hits in the slog overs pushed Lucknow to a respectable 153-8.
