In a grand gesture planned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), World Cup-winning captains will be celebrated during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

The distinguished group of captains, including MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Ricky Ponting, Clive Lloyd, Allan Border, Eoin Morgan, and Arjuna Ranatunga, will be honoured and presented with special blazers in a ceremony scheduled after the conclusion of the first innings in the highly anticipated final.

The special presentation will feature short clips showcasing the memorable journeys of these captains leading their teams to World Cup triumphs. Following the clips, there will be a brief question-and-answer session with a BCCI/Star anchor, adding an engaging and interactive element to the ceremony.

This unique tribute recognizes the leadership and legacy of these cricketing icons who have left an indelible mark on the sport by guiding their respective teams to World Cup victories. The ceremony is poised to be a memorable moment, acknowledging the contributions of these captains to the rich tapestry of cricket history.
