ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 points table: India secure No. 1 spot with massive win | IND vs SA

Team India have secured the top spot in the Cricket World Cup points table with their massive 243-run against South Africa. With back to back 8 victories, India have acccumulated 16 points in 8 matches and their net run rate is +2.456.

The loss however did not impact South Africa who have already reached the semifinals along with India. It remained in the second place in the points table.

The Temba Bavuma led-South Africa team has a total of 12 points with 6 wins in 8 matches. Their net run rate which was above 2 has however declined +1.376.

With 2 teams already in semis, the fight is for the 3rd and 4th spot. Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan are in the fray.

While Australia team is at third place in the points table and their net run rate is +0.924 with 5 wins and 10 points in 7 matches. Kane Williamson's New Zealand with 4 wins in 8 matches and a net run rate of +0.398 is at fourth place in the points table.

Following them in the 5th spot is the Pakistan who also have same wins as New Zealand are only below them due to difference in net run rate. If Pakistan win their next game by huge margin they might knock New Zealand out of the tournament who have now suffered 4 staright defeats.
