Tearful Sergio Aguero announces his retirement due to a heart issue

A teary-eyed Sergio Aguero announced on Wednesday that a heart condition has forced him to retire from competitive football. The 33-year-old who recently moved from Manchester City to Barcelona on a free transfer had to be substituted during his team's 1-1 draw with Alaves in October after receiving medical assistance on the pitch to treat chest pains and dizziness.

Aguero who has been one of the best strikers of the current era had smashed started his career with an Argentine club Independiente before moving to Atletico Madrid. After scoring 100 goals in 230 matches. He then moved to Premier League and played 10 seasons for Manchester City scoring 260 goals for the club in 390 appearances.

Earlier this year, Aguero after being diagnosed with a heart condition was asked to take a 3-month break but failure to cure the issue forced the footballer to end his career immediately.
