Spanish forward Ferran Torres moves to Barcelona from Manchester City

Spanish forward Ferran Torres has joined Barcelona from Manchester City on a five-year deal, the two clubs announced on Tuesday.

The deal's financial terms were not revealed, although British and Spanish media speculated that Barcelona would pay roughly 55 million euros that is $62.30 million for the player, with an additional 10 million euros in add-ons.

Torres has signed a contract with Barcelona that will last through June 2027, with a 1 billion euro release clause.

Earlier, the forward joined City on a five-year deal from Spain's Valencia in August 2020, making 43 appearances in all competitions for the English Premier League club, scoring 16 goals.

Torres helped Manchester City win both Premier League and Carabao Cup in his debut 2020-21 campaign. Before he got injured in the 2021-22 season, the Spanish forward has scored three goals in seven games for City.
