Carlo Ancelotti set to become Brazil national head coach: Reports | Real Madrid

Reports from Brazilian media indicate that Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is on the verge of taking over as the head coach of the Brazil national football team. Sportv, the sports channel of TV Globo, has revealed that there is a finalized agreement between the Brazilian Football Confederation and the esteemed Italian manager, with his appointment set to commence in June 2024.

According to Sportv, Brazil FA President Ednaldo Rodrigues and Ancelotti held two meetings in Spain during a friendly match between Brazil and Guinea, where discussions surrounding the coaching position took place. The network further adds that Ancelotti would recommend an individual who, in collaboration with current U-20 and interim senior manager Ramon Menezes, would facilitate a smooth "transition process." Additionally, Real Madrid is reportedly kept informed about the ongoing developments.

If the reports are confirmed, Ancelotti would lead Brazil through six 2026 World Cup Qualifiers matches and two friendlies before his official arrival. Furthermore, he would dive straight into the Copa America, hosted jointly by CONMEBOL and CONCACAF, which will take place in the United States.
