'X factor dropped, mediocrity retained' - Venkatesh Prasad hits out at India's selection calls

In a series of tweets, Prasad lambasted India's decision to leave out Ishan Kishan in favour of Shubman Gill.

Former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad hit out at India's selection calls for the series against Sri Lanka.

In a series of tweets, Prasad said it is unfair to leave out Ishan Kishan in favour of Shubman Gill, considering the keeper-batsman scored a double hundred against Bangladesh.

Prasad claimed the reason India have underperformed in limited-overs cricket is due to this constant chopping & changing, where 'X factor is dropped and mediocrity is retained'.

He also said he was baffled by India's decision to drop Rishabh Pant, who scored a hundred in England, while KL Rahul kept his place despite failing consistently.
