WTC Final: Indian squad to leave for England in 3 batches

In order to maximise preparation time in English conditions ahead of the WTC Final, the BCCI is planning to send the Indian squad players out to the UK in 3 batches.

WTC Final: Indian squad to leave for England in 3 batches

According to media reports, Team India squad members selected for the highly anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) final will depart for England in three separate batches. This strategic decision aims to ensure adequate preparation and acclimatization for the players ahead of the crucial match.

The first batch of players will leave for England on May 23, immediately after the conclusion of the league stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This timing allows the players to transition smoothly from the IPL to the WTC final and minimize any potential disruptions or fatigue.

The second batch will depart shortly after the first two IPL playoff games, scheduled for May 23 and 24. Finally, the remaining members of the squad will join their teammates in England on May 30, following the IPL final on May 28.

To further enhance the team's readiness, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to organize a practice match for the squad in the United Kingdom. This practice match will provide valuable playing time and help the players adapt to the conditions and nuances of English cricket.

The highly anticipated WTC final, pitting India against Australia, is scheduled to take place from June 7 to 12 at the iconic Oval cricket ground in London. The BCCI's strategic approach of sending the players in different batches allows for optimal preparation time and ensures that the squad arrives in England well in advance, ready to give their best in the ultimate battle for the WTC title.

As the countdown to the WTC final begins, cricket fans around the world eagerly await this clash of titans. The WTC final represents the culmination of a grueling and competitive qualification process, and both teams will be determined to claim the prestigious title of World Test Champions.

With the squads departing in three batches, the players will have ample time to acclimatize, fine-tune their skills, and build team cohesion, setting the stage for a captivating and closely contested encounter. As the cricketing world focuses its attention on the WTC final, anticipation grows for what promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable contest at the historic Oval cricket ground.
