Smith was awarded the Allan Border medal, the Australian men's cricket team's highest individual honour. Smith, who got 171 votes, finished ahead of Travis Head with 144 votes &amp; David Warner with 141 to his name.
The 33-year-old won the award for the fourth time, having won in 2015, 2018 and 2021 previously.
He also became only the third Australian cricketer after Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke to have won the award four times.

Talking about how the Mumbai batter is making a strong statement with consistent runs, Ashwin said, "Sarfaraz Khan is not just smashing the selection doors. He is burning them."

Expressing his concern over Ishan Kishan, who hit a blazing double century against Bangladesh last month, Gambhir highlighted how Kishan &amp; other young stars need to rotate the strike more often than just going for the sixes. 'I think he needs to quickly learn to rotate like this, because on a wicket like this, it's not going to be easy to go down the ground and hit the sixes', said Gambhir. For Kishan, who was ousted by Michael Bracewell in the first T20I after scoring 4 off 5, and was rendered a run out in the next T20I, the 41-year-old said, 'He still has to work a lot against playing spin because people will use a lot of spin against him in the first 6 overs. The sooner he improves against spin, the better it will get for him especially in the shortest format.&rsquo;

Shafali told ICC that she will look to take the winning confidence and will now shift her focus towards winning the senior World Cup as well.

Not content with the U-19 T20 World Cup triumph, batting sensation Shafali Verma has already set her sights on replicating the success with the senior women's team in less than two weeks' time.
She will get her chance when the Women's T20 World Cup gets underway from February 10 in South Africa, the same country where the country just won the inaugural U-19 world tournament.
Shafali, 19, has already established herself in India's senior side and wants to make the visit to South Africa even more memorable with another silverware.
"No, the big one also," Shafali said when asked if the U-19 trophy was the only one she was hoping to take back from South Africa.
"I am someone who focuses on task at hand. When I entered the Under-19s, I only focused on winning the Under-19 Cup and we have won that today (Sunday).
"I will look to take this winning confidence with me and win the senior World Cup. I will try and forget this and get involved with the senior setup and gel with the team and win the World Cup," she was quoted as saying by the ICC.
India on Sunday won their maiden ICC title in women's cricket as a bunch of supremely talented teenagers lifted the inaugural U-19 World Cup with a seven-wicket victory over England.
The Shafali-led India squad managed to do what their seniors could not by clearing the final hurdle in a global event.
India first bundled out England for 68 in 17.1 overs and then returned to knock off the paltry target in 14 overs to lift the coveted trophy.
Shafali was part of India's squad that fell at the final hurdle at the 2020 T20 World Cup, when Australia defeated the side by 85 runs in front of more than 85,000 fans at the MCG.
She said she still feels the pain from the loss.
"Melbourne was a very emotional day for me in that final game, we didn't win the game," Shafali recalled.
"When I joined the Under-19 team, I'm just thinking, 'you know, we have to win this Cup.' I'm just telling all the girls, 'We have to win this Cup, we are here for the Cup.' "We had lost the World Cup and it was tears of sadness. Today, they were tears of happiness because we achieved what we came here for.
"I tried controlling it but it couldn't happen. I will look at this as a big achievement and look to use this to learn something more. I will try to score more runs for India and am not going to be satisfied with this Cup. This is just the beginning.

Dravid also revealed that when the young gun was scoring runs but couldn't make it to the 100-run mark his father had commented, 'Shubhman are you only going to show us drizzles or are you actually going to show us some rain?' Dravid also lauded Gill for his terrific run with the bat. While praising Gill, the head coach highlighted how the 23-year-old's hunger had paved the way for him to become a better cricketer.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Incidentally, it is India's first-ever ICC title in women's cricket.
The victorious team will reach Mumbai from South Africa on Tuesday and then will head to Ahmedabad on Wednesday for the felicitation ceremony.
The felicitation ceremony will be held on the sidelines of the deciding third and final T20I between India and New Zealand here.&nbsp;

After captain Hardik Pandya, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and IPL team Lucknow Super Giants' mentor Gautam Gambhir all called out the Ekana pitch for being 'sub standard', the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association decided to sack the curator as per a report in the Indian Express.&nbsp; A total of only 200 runs were scored on the 'poor' pitch of the Lucknow stadium during India's 2nd T20I against New Zealand which the hosts won by 6 wickets.&nbsp;&nbsp; UPCA informed that the pitch curator has been replaced by Sanjeev Agrawal of Gwalior after the pitch curation was harshly criticised. Interestingly, the pitch used in 2nd T20I, as per the report turned out to be poor because of a last-minute request from the Indian Team management.&nbsp; The report said that the curator had prepared 2 black soil pitches for the game in advance however he was asked to prepare a red soil pitch instead just 3-days before the match. The new pitch could not be prepared properly on short notice and resulted in slower conditions.&nbsp;

The right-handed batter who featured in 61 Tests, 17 ODIs, and nine T20Is, last played for the country in the Perth Test against Australia in December 2018.
His Test debut was also against Australia back in the 2008-09 season at Nagpur, where he came in as a replacement for Gautam Gambhir.
He featured in first-class and List A cricket for Tamil Nadu late in 2019. He last turned out for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2020 IPL.
