Watch Under-19 World Cup highlights: England beat Afghanistan to reach 1st final since 1998

England's 24-year long wait finally ended on Tuesday as they beat Afghanistan by 15 runs to enter their first ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup final since 1998 when they were crowned champions.

Batting first, England finished at 231/6 after rain reduced the game to 47 overs per side contest. George Thomas, George Bell scored gritty half-centuries before Alex Horton's fiery 36-ball-53 not out helped them reach a defendable total.

Despite losing one of their openers for a duck, Afghanistan had a solid start as they raced to 94 without any more hiccup. But a batting collapse saw the young Afghan players lose their way and eventually manage 215/9. Rehan Ahmed took 4 wickets. The final will be played on Saturday.
