But Australian legend Greg Chappell has a few words of caution for the young star.
Speaking on the talk show Backstage with Boria, the former India head coach said, &lsquo;There are little things that Shubman does a few things early in his innings that make him vulnerable to that length around off stump and if the ball bounces a little bit extra, he will be susceptible to nicking off behind the wicket. But he's a very good player. If they don't bowl, he will punish them.&rsquo; He added that Gill is likely to struggle in the English conditions like any other player, especially if the Australians bowl well, &lsquo;The bowlers who will trouble him most are the ones who get that extra pace like Mitchell Starc. That can worry anyone. The extra pace gets good players out. The extra bit of bounce also gets good players out.&rsquo; But despite his warning for both sides heading into the ultimate showdown, Chappell praised Shubman Gill&rsquo;s sheer talent and the way it has been nurtured by Team India. &lsquo;Gill has played international cricket, has scored runs, He has played a lot of first-class cricket. So for a 22-year-old, he is an experienced cricketer,&rsquo; he said.

A cautious approach with Hazlewood has been taken by CA with the Ashes in mind, given the other pace options &ndash; Cummins, Starc, Boland, Cameron Green and now Neser &ndash; are all available for the WTC Final.

The mahapanchayat underway at Mundlana is the third of its kind in the past 4 days.&nbsp; Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni is already at the event while former Jammu &amp; Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary are expected to join shortly.&nbsp;
Previously, on June 3, a mahapanchayat was held in Kurukshetra in Haryana while another was held in Uttar Pradesh&rsquo;s Muzaffarnagar on June1. The rise in the number of mahapanchayats across various states is an indicator of the rising support to wrestling protestors from the farmer unions and leaders.&nbsp;
Earlier, on May 30, BKU leader Naresh Tikait was the one who persuaded Olympic medallists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik and CWG medallist Vinesh Phogat against throwing their medals into the Ganga river.&nbsp;

Pat Cummins expects the cricketing calendar to change down the line to accommodate more T20 leagues.

The IPL has ended the monopoly of international cricket on players' time, said Australia captain Pat Cummins, who feels going forward it will be a challenge to persuade players to prioritise national duty over franchise cricket.
Cummins agrees that Trent Boult's decision to deny a New Zealand central contract for a lucrative T20 league around the world has been in the offing since IPL changed the complexion of the game a decade ago.
"It's been coming for a while, but I think it is here now," Cummins was quoted as saying by Sydney Morning Herald ahead of the World Test Championship Final against India at The Oval starting June 7.
"International cricket doesn't have a monopoly on players' time, like it did in the past. The IPL changed that a decade ago, but there's just going to be more and more content that creeps in, so I think we've got to be proactive about that." Cummins wants his teammates to consider national duty bigger than anything else but said that would be a challenge in these times of cash-rich franchise-based leagues.
"We have to keep making playing for Australia as special as we can, keeping a high performance to get every single player wanting to play for Australia as much as we can. That's going to be the challenge.
"I think it's upon us now, and we've got to start thinking about that quite deeply. I think fast-forward a few year's time, a 12-month international calendar might look a little bit different," the pace spearhead said.
Cummins believes cricket is going football's way and there will be a time when national teams will need clearances from franchises to play for the country.
"When you're talking about some of the opportunities that may be provided through the franchises, I don't think you can blame players that might take that option," he said.
"I see the day where that (a franchise release) happens. I think it's reality. You've seen it in other sports. So again, we've got to keep selling why playing for Australia is so special. And making sure there is some flexibility to try and get the best out of these guys.
"We still want the best players winning World Cups for us, winning big series. But obviously, there's more competing interests than there were in the past.
"That's why things are starting to quicken up, and it's moving towards a more world football model, where you play for your club, employed by your club, and you get released to play for your country." Cummins believes the WTC provides bilateral Test series more context.
He said he is looking forward to Australia's first WTC Final and that too against India, who made the cut in the last edition as well.
"We've got India in the World Test Championship final first, which I think a lot of people forgot," Cummins said.
"It feels like second time around it's got a little bit more on it. It felt like a big missed opportunity that first one. So it certainly gives a bit more context to every series now, something big to play for.
"The big series, say Ashes or India series where you play four or five Test matches, are obviously big battles, whereas the more common series where you play two or three in a series, it (the World Test Championship) gives them a bit more global context and something a bit extra to play for."

According to media reports, Home Minister Amit Shah held a secret meeting with protesting wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik &amp; Bajrang Punia in Delhi.
While media organisations were not informed of this meeting, in a conversation with Amar Ujala, Sakshi Malik's mother Sudesh Malik, claimed that Sakshi, Vinesh, and Bajrang had a meeting with the Union Home Minister on Saturday night. During the meeting, the Home Minister advised all three athletes to stay calm and allow the law to take its course.
According to Amar Ujala, Sudesh Malik revealed that Shah explained to the wrestlers that no action will be taken against them. While the wrestlers once again demanded the arrest of Brij Bhushan during the meeting, Shah stated that any action taken would be in accordance with the legal process, promising the protesters a fair &amp; impartial probe.
The wrestlers have been demanding the arrest of BJP MP &amp; former WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by seven wrestlers, including a minor.
While Singh has pleaded innocence in public, the Delhi Police is investigating the case after 2 FIRs were lodged against him, including one under the POCSO Act.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has made a generous offer to support victims of the devastating Odisha train accident.&nbsp;
Sehwag has offered to provide free education to the children who tragically lost their parents in the incident.
The collision, which occurred on June 2 in Balasore, Odisha, involved two express passenger trains and a stationary freight train, resulting in a staggering death toll of at least 275 people, making it one of the deadliest train accidents in the past two decades.
Sehwag wrote on Twitter, &ldquo;In this hour of grief, the least I can do is to take care of education of children of those who lost their life in this tragic accident. I offer such children free education at Sehwag International School&rsquo;s boarding facility.&rdquo;
He further added, "Also salute all the brave men and women who have been at the forefront of the rescue operations and the medical team and volunteers who have been voluntarily donating blood. We are together in this."

Ahead of the World Test Championship final against Australia, Indian captain Rohit Sharma emphasized the challenges of batting in English conditions. Reflecting on his personal experience, Rohit acknowledged that one never feels fully "in" while batting in England, but develops an intuition for attacking the bowlers.
During an ICC event called 'Afternoon With Test Legends,' Rohit, alongside Pat Cummins, Ross Taylor, and Ian Bell, shared his insights. He emphasized the need for prolonged concentration and the importance of understanding one's strengths to succeed in England. Rohit highlighted the ever-changing weather conditions and the necessity of being mentally prepared.
He said, &ldquo;One thing I realised in 2021, you are never in and the weather keeps changing. You need to keep concentrating for longer periods of time and you will get that intuition when it&rsquo;s time to take on the bowlers. More importantly, you need to be out there and you have got to understand what your strengths are,&rdquo; the skipper said."
Being someone who values data and analysis, Rohit suggested that knowing the scoring patterns of successful players at the Oval could be beneficial, although he does not aim to emulate them. He mentioned that the square boundaries at the Oval are quick.
Having played across formats for over a decade, Rohit acknowledged the challenge of adapting and tweaking his technique as per the requirements of different formats. He stressed the importance of mental adaptability and self-talk, particularly for younger players who are relatively new to the multi-format aspect of the game.
Despite his numerous successes in limited-overs cricket, Rohit regards Test cricket as the ultimate format. He finds the challenges in Test cricket bring out the best in him and the team. With recent success in Test cricket, Rohit aims to cross the final hurdle and instill confidence in the younger players, allowing them to express themselves freely on the field.
