PSL: James Vince gets hair dryer as reward for century in Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans

James Vince's stellar century led Karachi Kings to a thrilling PSL win over Multan Sultans, sparking debate with a quirky hair dryer award.

PSL: James Vince gets hair dryer as reward for century in Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans

In a curious turn of events during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, a post-match award ceremony became the talk of the town after the Karachi Kings secured a thrilling victory over Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

England's James Vince, whose incredible century was pivotal in the win, was unexpectedly awarded a hair dryer, sparking a wave of criticism across social media platforms.

Multan Sultans had initially set a formidable total of 234/3, powered by a stellar, unbeaten 105 off just 63 balls by Mohammad Rizwan. Karachi Kings, however, responded with resilience, thanks to a crucial 142-run partnership for the fifth wicket between James Vince and Khusdil Shah.

Vince not only crafted a scintillating century but also laid the foundation for his team's successful chase, which was sealed with four balls to spare. He eventually fell on the last ball of the 18th over, while Khusdil remained not out with a blazing 60 off 37 balls.

Following the home side's four-wicket triumph, Vince was deservingly named Player of the Match. He was then asked to visit the dressing room where a sponsor presented him with a hair dryer, an unconventional choice that left both Vince and fans somewhat bewildered.

The unusual reward quickly became fodder for social media, where fans criticized the PSL franchise for awarding such a quirky prize for a batting display of such caliber.

In terms of record achievements, Vince's rapid century, completed in just 42 balls, ranks as the third-fastest in PSL history. The record for the fastest stands with Usman Khan, who scored a century in an astonishing 36 balls, with Rilee Rossouw of South Africa clocking in a 41-ball hundred.

Riding high after their triumph, Karachi Kings are set to face Lahore Qalandars next on Tuesday at the National Stadium, aiming to maintain their winning momentum in the league.
