'Very Special' VVS Laxman congratulates Team India for winning ICC Under 19 World Cup

After winning a historic fifth world title at the ICC Under-19 World Cup, VVS Laxman termed it a very special win. Speaking after the final, Laxman congratulated not just the team but also the selection committee.

Laxman, who traveled with the team, also mentioned how the covid outbreak in the middle of the tournament-tested the team but the boys showed a lot of resilience and a positive attitude to overcome all the problems. Laxman, who heads the National Cricket Academy, lauded the team for winning the tournament despite not getting a chance to play any domestic tournaments.

Due to the pandemic, all domestic tournaments were canceled in the last two years and this young side only got the chance to play Asia Cup for match practice.
