Tamil Nadu cricketer Narayan Jagadeesan has issued an apology for an indecent gesture after his dismissal in the opening match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Thursday. 
Baba Aparajith ran-out Jagadeesan for backing at the non-striker end, which was earlier called Mankading, following which the opening batter lost his cool. After being judged out, Jagadeesan turned around to show his middle finger in the bowler's direction. He then repeated the action again. 
After backlash from the fans, Jagadeesan realised it was a mistake and took to social media to write an apology note. He wrote that cricket has always been what he lives for and the sportsmanship that comes along with the sport is something he deeply respects. This is why it's very hard for him to digest how he reacted. 
'No excuses for what has been done. I will do better and be better,' he added while regretting his action.

The surge Indian Premier League is not going down well with Pakistan Cricket Board. PCB chief Ramiz Raja has decided to challenge the proposed two-and-a-half-month IPL window in future ICC meet.

Notably, the last match of the series was postponed in 2021 due to Covid-19 scare.

India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has surpassed the legendary Mithali Raj to become the highest run-getter in Women's T20 Internationals for India. Harmanpreet achieved this milestone after scoring an unbeaten 31 off 32 against Sri Lanka in the second match of the three-match T20I series in Dambulla which India won by 5 wickets.
Indian allrounder now has 2372 runs from 123 T20I matches with the help of a century and six fifties. 
Notably, Mithali recently took retirement from international cricket. Mithali had scored 2,364 runs in 89 T20Is. Smriti Mandhana is placed third on the list with 2011 runs.
The 33-year-old Harmanpreet is also the third overall Indian batter with the most runs in T20Is behind Rohit Sharma (3313 runs) and Virat Kohli (3296 runs).
Harmanpreet is currently captaining India in three T20Is and as many ODIs against Sri Lanka. India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the T20I series.

Madhya Pradesh have won their maiden Ranji Trophy after beating 41-time champions Mumbai by 6 wickets in the final at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday.
Mumbai posted 374 runs in their first innings but with the help of Madhya Pradesh's Yash Dubey, Shubham Sharma and Rajat Patidar's exemplary tons, MP scored 536 runs and took a 162-run lead. Mumbai bundled out for 269 by lunch in their second innings. MP easily chased the target of 108 runs that was needed to script the history. 
Notably, Madhya Pradesh had never won this prestigious tournament before and played just one final 23 years ago in 1999 in which the team finished as the runner up. 
Madhya Pradesh remained undefeated in this Ranji season winning 5 out of 6 matches and one match was drawn.

Madhya Pradesh had last reached the final of the prestigious Ranji Trophy back in the 1998/99 season, where they were beaten by Karnataka.

Madhya Pradesh have won their maiden Ranji Trophy crown after beating 41-time champions Mumbai by 6 wickets in the final in Bengaluru on Sunday.
Riding on Sarfaraz Khan&rsquo;s hundred, Mumbai had posted 374 in the first innings. But Madhya Pradesh's Yash Dubey, Shubham Sharma and Rajat Patidar smashed hundreds to help their side take a massive 162-run lead.&nbsp;
Mumbai were bundled out for 269 in their second innings and Aditya Shrivastava&rsquo;s side easily chased the 108-run target down to script history.
It&rsquo;s a big milestone for Madhya Pradesh since they had never won the prestigious tournament before and played just one final 23 years ago in 1999, where they were defeated by Karnataka.
They remained undefeated this Ranji season on their way to winning the ultimate prize.

Hardik Pandya has been enjoying an amazing career as he recently led Gujarat Titans to win their maiden IPL trophy, made his India comeback against South Africa this month and he was also made the India captain for Irish tour starting on June 26. Hardik feels that the responsibilities has made him a better cricketer and he has learnt a lot from former captains MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
In a virtual press conference, the 28-year old batter said that he has taken a lot of things from Dhoni and Kohli but at the same time he also wants to be himself. "My understanding of the game is different but I have taken a lot of good vibes from them," Hardik added.
Pandya will lead India in the 2-match T20I series against Ireland starting on June 26.
Talking about his role as a captain, India stand-in skipper Pandya said that he likes to take responsibilities as he always did well when he was given responsibilities and he will try to reflect it in his captaincy. It's such a big thing that he has got an opportunity to lead India and he doesn't play the sport to show anything to anybody, Pandya further said on the eve of the tour opener in Malahide.
Notably, Gujarat Titans skipper Pandya was the highest run scorer for his team in this year's IPL with 487 runs and he also took 8 wickets.

Hardik Pandya revealed how he's taken inspiration from two of his former captains - MS Dhoni &amp; Virat Kohli.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has had an upturn in fortunes in the past few months.
Only last month, he led the Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title in his debut season as captain. And now, he&rsquo;s going to captain India in the 2-match T20I series against Ireland.
Speaking to the press ahead of the first game in Dublin, Hardik said that he has learned a lot from former captains MS Dhoni &amp; Virat Kohli.
Highlighting how the two icons have been an inspiration for him., Hardik stated: &ldquo;My understanding of the game is different but I have taken a lot of good vibes from them.&rdquo;

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has always been expressive whether it's on the ground or outside. In a warm-up match between Rohit Sharma-led Indians and Sam Evans-led Leicestershire, Kohli was seen confronting the crowd after a few spectators misbehaved with Indian youngster Kamlesh Nagarkoti.
In a now viral video, former India captain can be seen schooling a fan after seeing the way the fan was acting. A fan was continuously asking Nagarkoti for pictures. 
Indian pacer Nagarkoti is part of India's net bowlers for the tour and was playing as a substitute fielder during the match between Indians and Leicestershire.
The fan can also be heard saying that he took a leave from his job to watch the match and he deserved a photo with Nagarkoti.
Kohli defended his teammate and responded by saying that Nagarkoti is there to play the match, and not to click photos.
India will play their 5th rescheduled Test against England at the Edgbaston, Birmingham from Friday, July 1.

Virat Kohli hit back at a fan who was pestering Indian pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti for a photo

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has always been expressive whether it's on the field or off it.
In the warm-up match against Leicestershire, the former Indian captain schooled a fan who was constantly bothering Indian youngster Kamlesh Nagarkoti for a photo.
In a video that's gone viral, Kohli has been captured having a heated exchange with a fan from the balcony of his dressing room. While part of the conversation is unclear, Kohli was visibly unhappy with the constant heckling aimed at the young Indian pacer.
While Nagarkoti is not part of the Indian squad, he's part of the travelling group as a net bowler. He was playing as a substitute during the third day of India's practice game and was fielding near the boundary rope when the incident took place.
In the clip, the fan can be heard saying that he took a leave from his job to watch the match and he deserved a photo with Nagarkoti.
Miffed with the spectator, Kohli told him that Nagarkoti was there to play the match, and not to click photos.
India play England in the rescheduled final Test at Edgbaston from July 1.
