With the dates for BCCI elections fast approaching, there are murmurs in the media that current president Sourav Ganguly won’t be seeking re-election for the top job.

The report further states that current Board secretary Jay Shah will continue in his role and contest the election for the same post once again.

Earlier, many believed Jay Shah will run for the BCCI president post in place of Ganguly.

Meanwhile, if the same reports are to be believed, 1983 World Cup-winning all-rounder Roger Binny and current vice-president Rajeev Shukla will run for the BCCI presidency for the next tenure.

As for Ganguly, there’s growing speculation that the former Indian captain is looking to become the next ICC Chairman and that’s why he won’t be contesting for the BCCI President’s job.

The election for the ICC Chairman will also take place in the coming days, given the new Chairman has to be elected for a tenure of 2 years that starts on December 1.
