Deepak Hooda was the star in the second T20I match against Ireland as his exemplary maiden century helped India to register a massive 225 runs against Ireland in the final match of two T20I match series. Hooda revealed what kept him motivated in the game. 
The Indian batter played an amazing innings scoring 104 runs off 57 balls against Ireland and was named player of the match and also the player of the series. India won the match by 4 runs and also the series by 2-0. 
In the post-match conference, Hooda said that being a cricketer, one should not think too far ahead. "If my work ethic is good, I'm going to be in a good space of mind and I'm going to score, that's my thinking," said Hooda. 
Talking about his inclusion in team India, he said that it's difficult to find a spot in the Indian team but at the same time when he was playing in Indian colours, he never thought about himself, he thought about his team.

In just his 3rd T20I innings, Hooda became only the fourth Indian cricketer to hit a T20I century.

Deepak Hooda was the star of the second T20I match against Ireland. It was his maiden century that helped India pile on 225 runs in Dublin. India eventually won the match by 4 runs, sweeping the series 2-0.
Having been adjudged the Player of the Match and Series for his batting returns, Hooda revealed what kept him motivated during his knock.

West Indies batter Chris Gayle has decided to opt out of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 to concentrate on playing in the latest T10 tournament, the '6IXTY'. 
The Windies' power hitter will act as an ambassador for the tournament and the trophy of the event has also been named after him — the Universe Boss Trophy.

New Zealand on Tuesday announced that they will host India just 4 days after the T20 World Cup in 3 T20Is and as many ODIs. 
Wellington, Tauranga and Napier cities of New Zealand will host the three T20Is starting on November 18 while the three ODIs will be played from November 25 to 30 in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch.
Notably, New Zealand toured India last year just after the T20 World Cup.
New Zealand also announced that they will host Pakistan and Bangladesh in a tri-series ahead of the T20 World Cup and next year they will play against England in two Tests and Srilanka in two Tests, 3 ODIs and as many T20Is.

New Zealand on Tuesday announced that they will host India just 4 days after the T20 World Cup in Australia.&nbsp;
Rohit Sharma's men will play 3 T20Is and as many ODIs post the showpiece event Down Under.
Wellington, Tauranga and Napier will host the three T20Is starting on November 18 while the three ODIs will be played from November 25 to 30 in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch.

Madhya Pradesh have won their maiden Ranji Trophy after beating 41-time champions Mumbai by 6 wickets in the final at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday.

After backlash from the fans, Jagadeesan realised it was a mistake and took to social media to write an apology note. He wrote that cricket has always been what he lives for and the sportsmanship that comes along with the sport is something he deeply respects. This is why it's very hard for him to digest how he reacted. 
'No excuses for what has been done. I will do better and be better,' he added while regretting his action.

Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh who got their maiden call ups ahead of the 5-match t20 series against South Africa practiced in India's first net session at the Arun Jaitley stadium on Monday.
While 36-year-old Dinesh Karthik also practiced, the IPL-winning skipper Hardik Pandya and  Yuzvendra Chahal were not seen during the session. The Gujarat Titans captain who will be making his comeback in the national side is yet to join the team, confirmed a source from BCCI. Though both the 2 new entrants practiced under the guidance of head coach Rahul Dravid and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, Arshdee Singh looked like a better prospect. The Jammu based cricketer bowled to Rishabh Pant who replied to his pace with the same intensity, Arshdeep had a bowling session directly under Mhambrey. Bhuvneshvar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan were seen sweating in out in the training session in Delhi. KL Rahul will lead the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma. The first match of the series will be played on 9th of June at Arun Jaitley stadium.

Umran and Arshdeep meanwhile practiced under the watchful eyes of head coach Rahul Dravid and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.
Fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan were also seen sweating in out in the training session in Delhi.

Rishabh Pant did it again. The 24-year-old once again came to India's rescue and saved the day with his 5th Test hundred in the 1st innings of the Birmingham Test vs England.
He reached his ton off just 89 balls, which is the fastest hundred by an Indian wicketkeeper in the history of Test cricket. It seemed like Pant had never left England when the 5th Test was rescheduled 10 months ago, as he developed his liking for Jack Leech all over again and smashed him for sixes at will. With 4 maximums in his knock, Pant also became the youngest Indian to complete 100 sixes in international cricket. Apart from that, he also became the youngest wicketkeeper to cross the 2000-run milestone in Test cricket.
The southpaw from Delhi walked out to bat with India in trouble at 71/4. He then put up a 222-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja. It's now the highest 6th-wicket partnership for India vs England. Pant was eventually dismissed for a 111-ball-146 but his innings put India back on track in the all-important Test.

Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya is all set to make his County Cricket debut as he has been signed by Warwickshire for the entire 2022 Royal London Cup campaign.
Krunal posted a video on social media where he thanked Warwickshire for the opportunity and said that he was Super excited to join his new teammates and can't wait to get going.

Rohit Sharma is set to return as the captain of the national side as the All-India Senior Selection Committee announced the squads for the three-match T20I and ODI series against England on Thursday.
The Rohit-led side will play the white ball cricket after their rescheduled 5th Test against England. 
Two different squads have been selected for the T20I series. Virat Kohli & Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for the first T20I and will return to the white-ball cricket from the second T20I.
The likes of Deepak Hooda & Avesh Khan have been rewarded for their impressive performances in the two-match T20I series against Ireland that India won 2-0. They are included in both T20 squads of team India while Sanju Samson has been selected for the first T20I.
Ravindra Jadeja will make his return in the shortest form of cricket in the second T20I. 
Arshdeep Singh has got his maiden call-up for the 50-over format game. Shikhar Dhawan will also return to play in Indian colours in the ODI series.

Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant have all been rested for the first T20I against England

Rohit Sharma is set to return as the captain of the national side as the All-India Senior Selection Committee announced the Indian squads for the three-match T20I and ODI series against England on Thursday.
Post the completion of the rescheduled Test, the Rohit-led side will kickstart the limited-overs leg with the first T20I in Southampton on July 7.
Two different squads have been selected for the T20I series. Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant &amp; Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for the first T20I but will be available thereafter.
The likes of Deepak Hooda &amp; Avesh Khan have been rewarded for their recent exploits and are part of India's T20I squad for all three games. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad &amp; Sanju Samson have been selected for the first T20I but excluded from the rest of the matches.
Ravindra Jadeja will make his return in the shortest form of cricket in the second T20I and is also a part of India's ODIs squad.&nbsp;
Arshdeep Singh has got his maiden call-up to the ODI squad. Shikhar Dhawan will be back in Indian colours for the ODI series and while Mohd Shami isn't part of the T20I series, he has been included for the 50-over contests.

"Not here to emulate anyone, but learned from everyone," that's what India's newest Test Captain Jasprit Bumrah said when asked about whether he's learned anything from the likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma.
Bumrah is India's 36th Test captain! While his name was doing the rounds ever since Rohit Sharma tested positive for Covid, the BCCI only announced his name as captain in a tweet on Thursday evening.
He also becomes the first Indian fast bowler after legendary skipper Kapil Dev to lead Team India, 35 years after the Haryana Hurricane last captained the side.
Speaking on the eve of the all-important Edgbaston Test, Bumrah said, "This is a huge achievement, a huge honour. Playing Test match for the country was my dream and getting this opportunity is the biggest achievement of my career."
While England look like a completely different side from last year, having whitewashed New Zealand 3-0 recently, Jasprit Bumrah is unfazed by the challenge that lies ahead.
"Our focus is on our strengths. England have played well, but we are not concentrating on them. We want to execute our plans to the best of our ability."
When asked about his inexperience as captain, Bumrah quipped: "I have spoken to MS Dhoni, he told me that he captained India straight away, he had never captained anywhere else and he is one of the most successful captains. I am just focusing on how to help the team and not on what I have done before."
While it's true that Bumrah has been thrown into the deep end with his new role as captain, it remains to be seen whether he can survive and thrive. A true test of character awaits!
