In a statement to police, Andrea said that Kambli threw the broken handle of a cooking pan at her, causing injuries to her head. Kambli's wife who went to Bhabha hospital for examination further stated that the 51-year-old also tried to hit her with a bat but she managed to wrest it out of his hands.&nbsp; As per the police, no arrest has been made so far in connection with the alleged incident.

ACC informed that a concrete decision on the matter would be taken at the next ACC Executive Board Meeting in March 2023.

ACC informed that a concrete decision on the matter would be taken at the next ACC Executive Board Meeting in March 2023.&nbsp;

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is expected to shift Asia Cup from Pakistan and decide on an alternate venue in March as BCCI secretary Jay Shah and PCB chairman Najam Sethi discussed the issue during a formal meeting in Bahrain on Saturday. All heads of ACC member nations attended the emergent meeting which was called at the behest of Sethi after the continental body released its itinerary and Pakistan wasn't named the hosts for the Asia Cup.
The Asia Cup was initially allotted to Pakistan and was scheduled in September this year but Shah, who is also the ACC chairman, had announced last October that India will not travel to Pakistan due diplomatic tension between the two nations.
"The ACC had a constructive dialogue on the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The Board agreed to continue discussions on operations, timelines and any other specifics with a view to ensure the success of the tournament. An update on the matter would be taken on the next ACC Executive Board Meeting to be held in March 2023," ACC said in a statement.
While a decision will come only next month, a senior BCCI official privy to the development told PTI that it is highly unlikely that Pakistan will host the tournament.
"With India deciding against travelling to Pakistan, the tournament will have to be shifted. A tournament without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will have the sponsors back out," the official said.
One ACC insider said Sethi has just taken over PCB and if he had ceded ground on the hosting rights in the first meeting itself, then it would have led to a bad impression at home.
Pakistan is currently going through an economic crisis. The inflation has hit the country very hard as one USD is now equal to 277 Pakistani Rupee. Organising a high-profile tournament like Asia Cup, even if ACC pays a grant could burn a hole in PCB coffers.
So strategically, if the tournament is held in the UAE, there is every possibility that all the member nations will also get to earn apart from the broadcast revenues.
In another decision, the ACC has decided to increase the annual budget allocated for Afghanistan Cricket Association to 15 percent from six.
The ACC has assured that it will help the Afghanistan board in all possible ways so that women's cricket can be revived in the country. Women are banned from playing sport under Taliban rule.
The Executive Board also approved of the inclusion of teams from Japan and Indonesia in the ACC pathway tournaments to participate in the events as invitees.

During an interaction with India Today, Gavaskar said that Sarfaraz is not staying off the field after scoring hundreds. All that tells you that the man is fit for cricket.

You have cricketers in all shapes and sizes. Don't go by the size, but go by the runs and the wickets, the former India skipper added.

Keeping the diplomatic tensions between the two countries in mind, the BCCI had said that the Indian Goverment won't allow the team to travel to Pakistan for the tournament in the recently held Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Bahrain.

Former Pakistan cricket team skipper Javed Miandad lashed out at the Board of Control for Cricket&nbsp; in India (BCCI) for maintaining their stubborn stance on not going to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.
"India can go to hell if they don&rsquo;t want to come to Pakistan to play cricket. I&rsquo;ve always backed Pakistan. And you know that I don&rsquo;t leave spare India whenever an issue arises. But the thing is we need to look at our part. And we should fight for it. We don&rsquo;t care because we are getting to host our cricket. This is ICC&rsquo;s job. If ICC can&rsquo;t control this there&rsquo;s no use of the governing body. They need to implement similar rules for every team. If teams like these don&rsquo;t come, they should be debarred. India hoga, apne liye hoga. Hmare liye nahi hai.&ldquo; said Javed in a public event.
&nbsp;&ldquo;Come and play. Why don&rsquo;t they? They run. For them it becomes a trouble if they come here and lose to us. The public there can&rsquo;t stomach it. It&rsquo;s always been the case. During our time, they used to not play because of the same reason. Riots and fighting take place there. The crowd there is very nasty. You would&rsquo;ve seen whenever India loses, to anyone, the crowd there burns down houses. When we used to play, they had faced such troubles.&rdquo; He added.

Former skipper Mithali Raj feels India's chances of winning the Women&rsquo;s T20 World Cup will depend largely on the top order's form.
The legendary batter added that the Indian bowlers will have to show a marked improvement in testing conditions at the marquee event beginning on Friday in South Africa.
"India&rsquo;s chances will be largely dependent on the top order. Smriti Mandhana is playing well and is a match winner," Mithali wrote in her column for the ICC.
"Harmanpreet Kaur has looked in good form too but we have to beat Australia and England you need other batters to come to the party." The Indian team, which takes on Pakistan in their tournament opener on February 12 in Cape Town, have been playing in South Africa.
The Indian team, which recently finished runners up in a Tri series against hosts South Africa and West Indies, will be fielding a relatively inexperienced pace unit barring veteran Shikha Pandey.
"The bowling will be tested and that is where we need to see an improvement," Mithali added.
The 40-year-old hopes the U19 World Cup-winning duo of Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh make use of the knowledge that they have gained while playing the age group tournament on these conditions.
"I hope Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh also have a good run at the World Cup considering they have gained so much experience of the conditions in South Africa.
"I am excited about some of the young players coming through and there is definitely some talent in the Under-19s team which I had the chance to see play at the inaugural ICC Under-19s Women&rsquo;s T20 World Cup." Australia favourites to win ================= Mithali opined defending champions Australia's excellent batting department make them favourites to win the event for an unprecedented sixth time.
"I think everyone would agree that Australia are the favourites, and deservedly so. I am expecting, tight, competitive matches.They are so difficult to beat because they bat deep and have an excellent batting line-up.
"There are not many teams who can rival them in terms of big hitters, and the fact they have numerous players who can play a similar role means that if one fails, others can step in.
However, Mithali feels India have a knack of producing their best against Australia.
"We saw recently that when they toured India although that was a very competitive series but when it came down to it, more often than not, it was Australia who came out on top.
"While Australia are definitely favourites, we have seen India and England play some of their best cricket in the knockout stages of tournaments so I would not write them off.
"India also have the knack of bringing their best against Australia."
The inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL) will be played this year with the auction slated to be held on February 13 in Mumbai.
Mithali, who made significant contributions in popularising the women's game during her 23-year-long glorious career, feels franchise cricket will not only help the players become financially secure but also enable them to invest in their game.
"What is great at this moment is that the women&rsquo;s game is constantly evolving. Where 140 used to be a par score in a T20, now you can see 160-180 plus chased down, and so many matches go down to the wire.
"That change has come down to the increase of leagues all over the world, with the WBBL in Australia, the Super League in England and of course the Women&rsquo;s Premier League in India which is going to start this year.
"Those platforms not only give local players the chance to interact with overseas stars, but they also offer better financial stability which allows them to invest in their own games, hiring personal coaches or strength and conditioning coaches.
While Mithali, who retired last year, will not be playing in the league, she has been roped in as a mentor and advisor by Gujarat Giants.
"I am not surprised at all that we have got to this point, the Women&rsquo;s Premier League in India is a huge development.
"While I will not be playing, I will be fortunate enough to serve as a mentor and advisor for the Gujarat Giants.
"There is no disappointment about the fact that I missed out on playing in it, my journey as a cricketer was different and I was able to play my part in the evolution of the sport.
She hopes the league will help in player development.
"I am very happy to see women&rsquo;s cricket get to where it is and excited to be part of the eco-system." "I am really hoping that the WPL will also help with player development. We have seen at the Under-19 World Cup how much young talent there is around the world and how players are already benefiting from the number of televised matches and the chance to play alongside big names in domestic cricket."

The Women's Premier League auction is just around the corner but India are firmly focussed on their T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan as they aim to emulate the U19 girls' title-winning feat, insisted skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
The WPL action is slated to be held on February 13 in Mumbai, a day after India's T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan.
"Before that [the auction], we have a very important game and we are just going to focus on that," Harmanpreet said at the T20 World Cup captains' press conference.
"The World Cup is more important than anything else. Our focus is on the ICC trophy. These things will keep coming, and as a player, you know what's important for you and how you need to keep your focus.
"We are all mature enough and know what is important for us," she added.
Led by Shafali Verma, the Indian team won the inaugural U19 T20 World Cup last month and the senior side wants to add another ICC title in India's trophy cabinet.
"After watching the U19 World Cup, we are motivated to do what they have done. They have motivated us to do well, they have done it and we have not done it yet," Harmanpreet said.
"It was a very special moment for all of us and after watching the U19s many of the girls back home will also want to play cricket and that&rsquo;s always our aim to motivate young girls who can come and play cricket." The flamboyant Indian skipper hoped that the WPL will play a similar role in contributing to the growth of Indian women's cricket like the Women's Big Bash and The Hundred have done in Australia and England.
"It's a really big day for all of us because we have been waiting for years and years now. The next two or three months are very important for women's cricket. We have seen how the WBBL and the Hundred have helped their countries improve their cricket. Hopefully, the same will happen for our country."

PCB Chief Najam Sethi gives Jay Shah an ultimatum regarding Team India's participation in the Asia Cup 2023.

PCB chief Najam Sethi warned Shah at the ACC meeting in Bahrain, saying that if India pulls out of the Asia Cup, Pakistan will not be taking part in the World Cup to be held in India in October-November

With BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) standing firm in his stance that India will not tour Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup, matters between the BCCI and PCB got heated with Pakistan threatening to pull out of the ODI World Cup in India as well.
According to multiple reports in Pakistan and international media outlets, PCB chief Najam Sethi warned Shah at the ACC meeting in Bahrain, saying that if India pulls out of the Asia Cup, Pakistan will not be taking part in the World Cup to be held in India in October-November.
Sethi also told the ACC members that before the next meeting, the BCCI should speak to its government and make its stance clear on whether it will send its team for the Asia Cup, so that Pakistan can also discuss with the ICC about playing its World Cup matches in India.
