Sri Lanka Cricket lifts ban on 3 players who broke Covid-19 protocols

The Sri Lankan cricket board lifted the one-year-long international ban on 3 cricketers who breached teh Covid-19 protocols 6 months ago.

Vice-captain Kushal Mendis, Dhanushka Gunathilaka and Niroshan Dickwella had broken the Covid-19 protocols during their England tour in June last year.

The 3 players breached the English bio-bubble and were seen out in Durham.

All 3 top Lankan players appealed the decision and paid a fine of $50,000. Revoking the ban, the board said, 'considering that there were no transgressions since they were banned in July the board decided to accept their appeal and allow they to play again.

The 3 players will now be available for selection for the upcoming 3 match ODI series against Zimbabwe.
