India had a good day in boxing, with both their pugilists qualifying for the next round. While Sachin reached pre-quarters in the 57kg category, Narender knocked his opponent out in the 92+kg event to qualify for the quarterfinals.
In Chess, India didn't have the best outing yet again. Arjun Erigasi drew his round 5 match against Javokhir Sindarov of Uzbekistan and then lost the next round against Bilgunn Sumiya of Mongolia. He finally finished his day with a victory against Novendra Priasmoro. Meanwhile, Vidit Gujarathi won his round 5 and 6 matches, he defeated Iran's Parham Maghsoudloo and followed it with a win over leader Nodirbek Abdusattorov. Vidit, however, unfortunately, went down in round 7 to China's Wei Yi.
In the women's event in round 5, Koneru Humpy defeated Nilufar Yakubbaeve and drew against Medina Turmunh of Mongolia. Harika Dronavalli beat Kim Thi Vo of Vietnam in round 5 and followed it up with a draw against Zhansaya Abdumalik of Kazakhstan. Both Humpy and Dronavally finished with draws in Round 7 as well.

After winning their third gold in the Equestrian Dressage Team event, India will be hoping to add more gold medals to the tally with shooting events early in the morning.&nbsp;
Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan will be in contention for Gold in the 25m Pistol event. Having already topped the Precision Round, Manu Bhaker will be hoping to finish top in the rapid round next. India can, in fact, win more than one medal in the competition, with Esha Singh also close behind Manu Bhaker. Indians will be keeping their fingers crossed for the finals.
Apart from Women's 25m Pistol event, the Skeet Men's and Women's stage 2 will also take place simultaneously. While the men really didn't have a great Stage 1, Ganemat Sekhon in the women's event is in contention for a medal. Ashi Chouksey, Manini Kaushik and Sift Kaur Samra will also take part in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event.
In squash, both the men's and women's team will play 2 pool matches each, while the Indian women's hockey team will open their campaign against Singapore in the morning.
In boxing, Shiva Thapa and Sanjeet will take the ring in the afternoon in their round of 16 bouts.&nbsp;

In the latest update, Rohit Sharma, the captain, and Virat Kohli, who rested during the first two games of the series, are set to make their return to the lineup. However, Mohammed Shami, who played in the initial two games, and Hardik Pandya, who was absent in the earlier matches, are not part of the current squad.

Having won 6 medals on day 2 of the Asian Games, India are right on track for their objective to break their medal tally record at the continental multi-sport event.&nbsp;
On September 26, India will be hoping to add more Gold medals to their kitty, especially in shooting, where Divyansh Singh Panwar and Ramita Jindal will participate in the mixed team 10m air rifle event. While Ramita has already won 2 medals - a silver and a bronze for India, Divyansh also won the Gold in the men's team event alongside Aishwary Tomar and Rudrankksh Patil.
The Indian men's hockey team, who thrashed Uzbekistan 16-0 in their opening encounter, will play their second pool match against Singapore that begins at 6:30 AM.

India made history on Tuesday afternoon with the Equestrian team winning gold in dressage, a first-ever Gold for the country in the event.
It was also the first Gold medal for India in the sport after 41 long years. India had previously won 3 Gold medals in the sport but all of them came way back at the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi.
The team of Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Cheeda, Divyakriti Singh and Sudipti Hajela finished the event with a total score of 209.25. China, who took the silver, finished with 204.882 points.
While Agarwalla garnered 71.088 points, Hriday Chheda is behind him with 69.941 points. Divyakriti Singh scored 68.176 and Sudipti Hajela collected 66.706 on Day 1.
Anush Agarwalla and Hriday Chheda's exceptional individual outings in Hangzhou, saw them finish in second and third place of the individual dressage standings at the end of Day 1, helping India to Gold in the team event.
It was also India's third Gold at the multi-sport event and their 3rd medal of the day, with the other two coming in Sailing.

Interestingly, 8 runners were officially had to participate but on hearing that dope testers had been sent by the National Anti doping agency (NADA) to take urine samples from the participants, none turned up but Lalit.
A spectator shot a video of just 1 runner taking his mark ahead of the race. He took to social media platform 'X' and wrote, 'Cleaning sports is extremely important. Athletes should never resort to Doping.'
Lalit had mixed feelings about the whole situation. 'I thought it was both funny and sad. It was funny because I knew that I was going to win. But it was also sad because once I knew that the dope testers had come to the competition, I knew why every other runner was not taking part. There were so many of them who took part in the heats but no one apart from me took part in the final. These guys are my seniors. They are supposed to be role models and this is what they are doing,' said Lalit.
'Why wouldn&rsquo;t I compete? I&rsquo;ve got nothing to hide. In fact I&rsquo;ve been hoping dope testers come every year in the past too. I&rsquo;m really happy that NADA came this year at least. I was very happy when I gave my sample,' he concluded.

Axar had suffered a left quadricep injury ahead of the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka earlier this month, and is currently recuperating at the NCA.

Rohit expressed satisfaction over Ashwin&rsquo;s effort and said it indeed gives them an option to fall back upon.
&ldquo;He has got a lot of variation up his sleeve and in case there is a chance, we can look at a lot of things. Hopefully, the way things are at this point, it does well for us because we have got all the backups ready.
&ldquo;We have given them enough game-time,&rdquo; he said.
Rohit, who was rested for the first two ODIs against the Aussies, expressed happiness over the fact that the Indian team has been able to overcome challenges with success.
&ldquo;I am very happy with the last 10 ODIs that we played. A lot of guys came back into form (by) scoring lots of runs and the bowlers are taking lots of wickets. In the last few games, we saw the guys who came back from injuries have proven their fitness,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;(We are) pretty much settled&hellip;how we stand, where we stand. Now, it is about taking this whole situation forward in the best possible way,&rdquo; he added.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin conveyed that they made the decision to exclude Tamim Iqbal from the squad due to his back trouble.&nbsp;

Bangladesh have made the decision to exclude a 'partially fit' Tamim Iqbal from their 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India. This comes after the veteran batter's recent return to the team during the New Zealand series, following a prolonged period of dealing with a back injury, a retirement reversal, and stepping down as the team's captain.
In the series opener against New Zealand, the game was abandoned, and Tamim Iqbal couldn't bat. However, he managed to score 44 runs in the second ODI. Post the match, he expressed that he was still grappling with discomfort due to his back.
Chief selector Minhajul Abedin conveyed that Tamim is a long-term injury concern. He said they made the decision to exclude him from the squad due to his back trouble.&nbsp;
According to a Cricbuzz report, Tamim had previously expressed confidence in making a full recovery before the World Cup. However, recent updates indicate that he informed the team that his fitness would need to be managed throughout the World Cup, implying that he wouldn't have been available for the entire tournament.
With over 8300 ODI runs, Tamim Iqbal is Bangladesh's most successful batter, and leaving him out surely is a big call made by the selectors.

India added 3 more medals to their tally on day 3 of the Asian Games, with gold in the Equestrian dressage team event, while 2 medals - silver and bronze came in Sailing.&nbsp;
In the Equestrian Dressage Team event, <a href="https://www.editorji.com/sports-news/others-sports/india-win-gold-in-equestrian-dressage-team-event-at-asian-games-2023-3rd-gold-so-far-1695719054491">India made history, winning their first medal in the sport at the Asian Games after 41 years.</a> Anush Agarwalla and Hriday Chheda along with Divyakriti Singh and Sudipti Hajela topped the event with a total score of 209.25. China finished second with 204.882 points.
Agarwalla and Chheda were the top performers for India and are currently second and third in the individual rankings after day 1 of the dressage event.&nbsp;
In Sailing, <a href="https://www.editorji.com/sports-news/others-sports/asian-games-2023-india-win-first-medal-in-sailing-neha-thakur-clinches-silver-in-girl-s-dinghy-1695707115079">Neha Thakur clinched silver</a> in the Girl's Dinghy - ILCA 4 category. It was India's first medal in sailing in this edition. The 17-year-old ended with a net total of 27 points in 11 races. India's Eabad Ali then<a href="https://www.editorji.com/sports-news/others-sports/asian-games-2023-eabad-ali-wins-bronze-in-men-s-windsurfer-india-s-2nd-medal-in-sailing-1695715041412"> finished third in the Men&rsquo;s Windsurfer RS:X </a>event to clinch another medal, a bronze, in Sailing.
Hosts China are the runaway leaders at the top of the medal tally with a total of 95 medals, 53 of them Gold. South Korea with 14 gold is second, followed by Japan in third with 8 Gold medals.&nbsp;
India are 6th with 13 medals, 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.
