Shikhar Dhawan pens down emotional birthday wish for son Zoravar, post goes viral

Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan took to social media to express his heartfelt emotions on the occasion of his son Zoravar's 11th birthday. Despite not having seen his son for a year, the 38-year-old batter conveyed his feelings through a touching message that resonated with many. Zoravar currently resides with Dhawan's former spouse in Australia following their separation.

In his poignant post, Dhawan shared, "It’s been a year since I saw you in person, and now, for almost three months, I’ve been blocked from everywhere so posting the same picture to wish you, my boy, a very Happy Birthday. Even if I can’t connect with you directly, I connect with you through Telepathy. I am so proud of you, and I know you’re doing great and growing up nicely."

"Papa always misses you and loves you. He’s always positive, waiting with a smile for the time when we will meet again by the Grace of God. Be naughty but not destructive, be a giver, be humble, compassionate, patient, and strong," Dhawan added.

This message reflects Dhawan's deep emotional connection with his son despite the physical distance.

Dhawan's divorce was finalized by a Delhi court in October, which found that his ex-wife, Aesha, had subjected him to "cruelty." The court's ruling also facilitated Dhawan's visitation rights, permitting him to meet Zoravar both in India and Australia. Additionally, the court mandated that Aesha must bring Zoravar to India during his school holidays.

The viral post that Dhawan shared on Tuesday featured a photograph that he had previously posted in October, accompanied by an evocative poem. The lines, ‘Ek ajeeb si betaabi hai tere bin, reh bhi lete hain aur raha bhi nahi jaata,’ conveyed the complexity of Dhawan's feelings of longing and love for his son.
