Roger Binny set to become BCCI President; IPL to have new chairman

India's 1983 World Cup-winning all-rounder Roger Binny is set to become the next BCCI President. Binny will replace Sourav Ganguly, who might file for nomination for the top job at the International Cricket Council.

Meanwhile, Jay Shah is expected to continue as the Secretary of the Board.

The big change though will take place in the IPL governing council, with Brijesh Patel no longer eligible to continue as the Chairman as he'll turn 70 this November. In a surprise move, Arun Singh Dhumal, the Treasurer of the BCCI, is expected to take up the role.

BJP leader Ashish Shelar, who already filed a nomination for the Mumbai Cricket Association President's post, is likely to give up the role to become BCCI's next Treasurer.

BCCI Vice-president Rajeev Shukla, who was hopeful of bagging the IPL top job, will have to stay content with his current position while Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's close aide Devajit Saikia is set to be the new joint secretary, coming in place of Jayesh George of Kerala.
