Robin Uthappa announces retirement from international and Indian cricket

Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa announced his retirement from international and Indian cricket on Wednesday.

The 2007 T20 World Cup-winning batter brought the curtains down on his career after playing International and Domestic cricket for almost 20 years. Incidentally, Uthappa's decision came on the very day when he took part in the famous 2007 bowl out vs Pakistan, which India won.

Sharing a heartfelt message on Twitter, Robin wrote, 'It has been my greatest honour to represent my country and my state, Karnataka. However, all good things must come to an end, and with a grateful heart, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket.'

The 36-year-old further thanked all the teams he represented including Karnataka, India and all the teams he played for in the IPL. He represented India in 46 ODIs and scored 934 runs and in in 13 T20Is, scoring 249 runs.
