Rishabh Pant accident: What the wicketkeeper-batter's injuries mean for Team India?

Rishabh Pant miraculously avoided serious injuries after he met with a scary accident on Friday, which saw his car being burnt to ashes on the road.

According to Dr Sushil Nagar who led the emergency treatment, there was no fracture in his leg but Pant suffered a ligament tear in his knee and abrasions on his back.

So, what do Pant's injuries mean for Team India?

The wicketkeeper-batter has been an integral part of the Test set-up and has proven to be one of the biggest match-winners in whites in the last couple of years.

India's next Test series is against Australia and Rohit Sharma's men will play 4 Tests at home from February 9 to March 9 with a spot in the World Test Championship final on the line.

Though it's still not clear how much time Pant will take to recover, it will be a huge blow to Team India if he misses this crucial Test series.

The IPL will follow soon after and Pant was to lead the Delhi Capitals once again. If the rehabilitation takes time, the 25-year-old may miss the cash-rich league as well.
