'Need new style of coaching': Pat Cummins message to his critics over Justin Langer's resignation

Pat Cummins who has been under fire over Justin Langer's resignation feels although Australia under Langer had a good record, the team needed a new style of coaching and new skillset.

Cummins who took over the charge as Test skipper in December and led the Kangaroos to a thumping Ashes series win feels that it is his responsibility to stand by the collective decision of his teammates who also agree that the team needs a new style of coaching.

To his critics, the 28-year-old ace bowler said, 'just as you have always stuck up to your mates I am sticking for mine'. Coach Langer who helped Australia win their first T20 World Cup last year, was offered a short extension. He however did not accept it and resigned after almost 4 years of service.

While Cummins revealed that the ex-coach had apologized to the players for his renowned intensity, the skipper believes no player in the team had an issue with it and there is no need to apologise.

Calling Cricket Australia's decision of helping in bringing in the transition a brave one, the Ashes-winning skipper said that he takes his responsibility seriously. I live and breathe it, but we also have a responsibility towards our mates', he added.
