Should Virat Kohli be in India’s T20 World Cup squad? Here’s what Sanjay Manjrekar said

After Virat Kohli opted out of the limited-overs leg of India’s tour of South Africa, his inclusion in the upcoming T20 World Cup remains uncertain.

Speaking on Kohli’s chances for the marquee tournament, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said that the 35-year-old will have to show he is a better pick than the youngsters who are currently playing.

Manjrekar said the selection dilemma also extended to Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, both of whom may be considered for captaincy in the T20 World Cup.

“I believe the approach should be extremely simple. We have played a lot of World Cups and haven't been able to win them,” the former cricketer said on Star Sports.

The Kohli-Rohit duo has been missing from all Indian T20I squads since the 2022 World Cup in Australia.With notable performances from younger top-order batters like Shubhman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal in recent times, the selection committee is spoilt for choices at the moment.
