IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals' Jos Buttler receives stitches on little finger, likely to miss next match

Jos Buttler, Rajasthan Royals’ star batter got stitches on his left hand’s little finger during the team’s Wednesday evening IPL match against Punjab Kings in Guwahati.

Buttler is most likely to miss the Royals’ next game against Delhi Capitals on April 8 as the finger is will be sore and can cause hindrance in fielding.

The English player caught a diving catch of Punjab Kings batter Shahrukh Khan and injured his finger in the process. In fact, Buttler, who got a sponsor's award for the best catch, came to collect his cheque with a distinct white strapping on his little finger.

Veteran Ravichandran Ashwin was selected to open the Rajasthan Royals innings and Buttler was sent in at number 3.

"Jos was not fit. He was getting stitches for his finger after the catch," skipper Sanju Samson said during post-match presentation ceremony.

Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson revealed in the post-match presentation that Jos Buttler was not fit and received stitches on his finger after the catch.

The Royals lost the match by 5 runs.
