IPL 2022: Harshal Patel reveals how Virat Kohli's advice changed his approach towards the game

As players are gearing for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) most successful bowler Harshal Patel revealed how Virat Kohli's advice changed his approach towards the game.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, Harshal said, "after I got hit for 37 in that CSK game, Virat came up to me and said you got hit for 37… it happens. You put yourself in difficult situations, you can fail. But if you don't put yourself there, you are never going to be a valuable player."

Harshal Patel emerged as IPL 2021's most successful bowler and went on to win the purple cap. He even equalled the record of Dwayne Bravo's most 32 wickets in IPL history.

On a superb outing, Harshal was called up for the India T20I side and the Haryana cricketer made a mark in the shortest format too, becoming a lethal weapon for India in death overs.

In 63 IPL matches played so far, Harshal has scalped 78 wickets at an economy of 8.58. In his short international career, the 32-year-old bowler took 11 wickets in 8 matches at an economy rate of 8.51.
