IPL 2021: Virat Kohli's captaincy career with RCB ends empty handed

Virat Kohli took over the captaincy reigns of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2013 and 9 years down the line, the Delhi lad ended his career as RCB skipper empty-handed.

Kohli announced that 2021 will be his last year as skipper in the IPL but the final chance to get his hands on the silverware went down the drain as RCB lost to KKR in the Eliminator.

When one compares that with long-term players to lead an IPL team, Kohli's run seems even more disappointing.

While CSK won 3 IPL titles under MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma on the other hand led Mumbai Indians to glory 5 times. RCB has lost 69 and won just 64 games under Virat, one of the poorest records by a captain in IPL history.

While Kohli would have loved to make his last dance as a skipper count but eventually his team failed to put up a royal challenge and perished in the playoffs as fans were left gazing at the longest valid meme in IPL history.
