IPL 2021: KL Rahul's stint at Punjab Kings to end?

Skipper KL Rahul might not be wearing the Punjab Kings' jersey again, suggests a report by Cricbuzz. As per the report, KL Rahul who was one of the top performers this IPL season has been approached by various other franchises.

Although KL Rahul had a brilliant individual outing with the Royals, he failed to take his team through the playoffs yet again. The batter who is the highest scorer this season amassed 626 runs in total in 2021.

Since taking over the captaincy of the Punjab Kings in 2018, Rahul has been consistently been their best batter with more than 600 runs in 3 of the 4 seasons. While his batting has been top-notch, doubts and questions have been raised over his captaincy skills as the Punjab Kings have failed to qualify for the playoffs in every single season.

With 2 new teams being added, BCCI is set to hold a mega auction next year. Apart from that, the Indian board has also not given any clarity on the number of retentions available for each team.
