India suffer injury blows ahead crucial test vs England

India has faced a couple of setbacks ahead of the crucial fourth Test against England, with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and pacer Arshdeep Singh sidelined due to injuries. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who played in the second and third Tests, has been forced out of the series after sustaining a ligament injury in his left knee during a gym session on Sunday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed his departure, expressing hopes for his swift recovery.

Arshdeep Singh has also encountered misfortune, having injured his left thumb while bowling in nets at Beckenham. Although he has yet to play a match in the series, the BCCI Medical Team is supervising his recovery. His unavailability poses a challenge as India looks to level the series.

To bolster the squad, Haryana seamer Anshul Kamboj has been called up as cover and has already joined the team in Manchester. The upcoming fourth Test, critical for India as they trail 2-1 in the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy, is set to commence at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

India’s revised squad for the fourth Test consists of Shubman Gill (Captain), Rishabh Pant (Vice-Captain & WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, and Anshul Kamboj.
