India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the first 2 ODI against West Indies due to knee injury, confirmed BCCI. Before the 1st ODI between India and West Indies began, the Indian board said that Jadeja has sustained a knee injury in the right leg and will now be missing the first 2 ODIs of the 3-match series in Wet Indies. The BCCI further said that the 33-year-old who was earlier named the vice-captain for the WI ODI series is under medical observation and a decision on his participation in the final ODI will be taken later. Apart from Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul has also been ruled out after he tested Covid positive. On the hosts' side, Jason Holder missed the opener after contracting Coronavirus.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the first 2 ODIs against West Indies due to a knee injury, the BCCI has confirmed.
Before the 1st ODI between India and West Indies began, the Indian board said that Jadeja had sustained a knee injury in his right leg and that he&rsquo;ll miss the first 2 ODIs of the 3-match series in the Caribbean.
The BCCI further said that the 33-year-old who was earlier named the vice-captain for the WI ODI series is under medical observation and a decision on his participation in the final ODI will be taken later.
Apart from Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul&rsquo;s availability for the T20Is is also in doubt after he tested positive for Covid. On the hosts' side, Jason Holder missed the opener after contracting the virus as well.

The Chennai Super Kings were hoping to use MS Dhoni as the mentor for their new franchise in the upcoming T20 league in South Africa but BCCI has reportedly not given them a go ahead.
According to a report in the Indian Express, the Indian board denied CSK the opportunity as they reiterated their stand over Indian cricketers being involved in overseas franchise leagues. The BCCI has strongly stated in the past that any India player hoping to make an appearance in overseas franchise league will have to cut off all ties with BCCI before promising their commitment to those leagues.
Though Dhoni has retired from international cricket but a BCCI official told the Indian Express that MSD will have to quit playing the IPL before heading to South Africa.
Incidentally, all 6 franchises of the CSA T20 League were bought by the IPL team owners.
